Talk about a distraction: Warner =Neil O'Donnell

Postby thesteelhammer » Tue Jan 27, 2009 8:38 pm

Warner is already talking about his upcoming free agency.

Can anyone say Neil O'Donnell?

Fred Mitchell, of the Chicago Tribune, reports Mark Bartelstein, agent for Arizona Cardinals QB Kurt Warner, is making an all-inclusive plan that would give other teams a chance to make an offer when Warner becomes a free agent after the season. "My view with players is always that once you get to free agency, you have earned the right to find out about yourself. You would be silly not to have an open mind," Bartelstein said.

They replayed that DAL SB, and never one to believe O'Donnell threw the game, I gotta tell you I can't believe it.

They had a clip of Neil on the sideline after the first pick. Kind of beside himself, sort of, not sure how you describe it. Cowher asks him about the throw and it's tough to pick-up what he says, but then Cowher says "just sailed on you, huh?" Which happens and is believable if he doesn't do the EXACT same thing later.

Those two picks are just beyond explanation. I always believed it was a miscommunication or that the receiver ran the wrong route, but that audio clip leads me to believe that wasn't the case, at least on the first one...."just sailed on him"

My point is Neil was already a jet.
and now Warner is one foot out the door.

Your head has to be in this game completely.
If you are thinking about what uniform you'll look good in next season, you aren't focused on the game.

Can anyone else think of a superbowl QB who was a pending UFA and how they played?

We are all looking for something to distract the Cardinals. Are you guys really that scared of this team? They were 9-7 and played in the worst division in football. Besides Hammer, Warner a religious fanatic with a purpose in life. He always talks about his journey. He's not going to be distracted by anything but Woodley and Harrison.

i've been mulling the Cardinal QB too.

this can be said of any / every team, but, without Warner, what are the Cardinals? just another doormat team with flecks of talent (WR).

Arizona defense is pedestrian; they won't run the ball; which leaves Warner and the Receivers.

i'm a believer in the regular-season being honored/rewarded and 9-7 in the AFC West just doesn't stack up.

the pessimist in me says: the inconsistent steeler offense will keep Arizona in the game, but, realistically: this shouldn't be a game. Steelers roll.

playing the role of the jets? The bears?

Fred Mitchell, of the Chicago Tribune, reports the agent for Arizona Cardinals QB Kurt Warner, Mark Bartelstein, said Warner will test the free-agent market this offseason. The Chicago Bears could be a potential suitor, depending on how the team evaluates what they have at the position. "The Bears obviously have to figure out which direction they want to go with the quarterback thing," Bartelstein said. "It has, obviously, been a point of contention for quite a while. We have to wait and see what they decide they want to do

The Bears. If Chicago could work out a deal for Boldin as well then they may be primed to take over a division that will be very speculative. No telling how T. Jack progresses, the Packers fell off the wagon because of no pass rush, and the Lions could make a Black & Decker proud. Chicago has a solid D & a good running game. Have they ever had even a decent passing attack since McMahon? Eric Kramer?

I'm telling you Warner's head is already on After this game.

Darren Urban, of AZCardinals.com, reports Arizona Cardinals QB Kurt Warner said there is chance he may decide to retire after this season especially if he wins Super Bowl XLIII. "You know, I don't know what's going to be the ultimate decision or how it's going to be determined," Warner said. "I know that you look at the scenarios and what could play out, and in the back of your mind you say, 'Man, this could be a perfect scenario to leave the game.' But what I've continued to realize about my career and my life is that nothing takes on a perfect scenario."

I'd like to see our Defense knock him into retirement about the 2nd quarter.
