Simms

Who agrees that simms never passed an opportunity to say how great the Ravens were playing....and "sometimes" the Steelers were OK

What a blowhard!

Thank you!!!
I have being ripped by a few of the members here, saying that I was "high" for saying the same exact thing,

The worst two cases of such were:

1. Troy intercepts the ball...and Simms mentions Ed Reed. WTF!?! What did Reed have to do with that INT???

2. After the Ravens had gone punt, INT, punt on their first three possession, Simms says, "The Ravens have the Steelers right where they want them."

Normally, I am a Simms/Nance fan...but, their slant was a little much in this game.

Yeah. Remember when he said 'Flacco is getting better as the game goes on'...at which point Flacco was something like 9/23 for 70yds and a pick. He wanted the Ravens to win so bad he could barely contain himself. Then they could have gone on and on about the curse of Heinz field, rookie QB sensation, and all the other nonsense. Sorry Simms, Big Ben beat Big Bird Flacco (I think he really does look like a cross between Big Bird and Nicholas Cage) and stole your story line.

SIMMs is an open Steelers hater. He will begrudgingly acknowledge a few Steelers attributes here and there just to maintain an aura of fairness. FUCK SIMMS

But dont worry, the SUPER BOWL will be a horror show of pro Cardinal hype and gametime one sidedness. All the better!

This is all true but indeed very strange. Has anyone noticed such bias and prejudice while watching non Steeler games? I mean are there any other teams besides the Steelers that the media dislikes so?

I'd sure like to know the reasons for this. I know, but cannot prove, that it has something to do with money.

Only the most paranoid of fans believe the announcers are rooting against their team. Simms is among the best if not the best and has said plenty of positive things about, Tomlin, Ben, and the Steeler organization.

i didn't notice it, but i wasn't looking for it either.

i think simms mentioned ed reed after troy's INT because reed has taken them back for touchdowns the past couple weeks and everyone was waiting for him to do it in this game. (i know i was)

edit: just watched the INT on youtube and jim nance was the first one to bring up ed reed. "He might have been also thinking on that Baltimore sideline, 'Hey Ed Reed you're not the only guy that can zig and zag and run it back for a touchdown'." then simms makes a comment about the differing levels of quarterbacking between flawko and ben. and then nance comes back AGAIN and says "we've seen ed reed do this so many times". god shut up.

funny thing, i read in the shittimore sun on the message board site, they are bitching and moaning that the announcers were biased for the steelers...guess its a matter of perspective...but as i sit here, i can objectively say, simms sucks ass. so does nance. wish i had dve at home..

and fuck...we get madden in the superbowl...it goes from bad to worse.

So it is Madden? Damn McLovin not a fan of the old bastard. Frank Caliendo impersonating Madden in the booth would be much more tolerable

Funny Rickey Henderson story. In the twilight of his career Henderson was playing for the Padres while boarding a team bus one of the young veterans (as is the custom) stood up and said, "Here you go Rickey, take my seat. You have tenure." Henderson replied. "Shiit Rickey got about 16 or 17 years". He was a team favorite after that.

Ricky gets a base hit, and while standing on first base with John Olerud, Ricky says:
"I used to play wiht a guy who wore his batting helmet in the field."

Olerud responds:
"Uh, Ricky...that was me."
