Mad and happy

Postby lloydrules » Wed Jan 21, 2009 7:34 pm

Things from last game that made me happy.

Not just playing D to all out stop the rush while leaving the pass D in a bad position. They actually knew to play the pass more than the rush and had the personnel to do it. Good take my Simms.

Mad?

Wasting too many downs running up the middle when you know it's not going to work.

I don't get why they refuse to rethink this error. Hope it doesn't cost them a Super Bowl win. It might.

Even though the running game didn't work, I loved the fact we stuck to it and didn't abandon it like we did...say the Philly game earlier this year. It showed guts of the Offensive Coordinator and it made the guys on the field trust in one another, regardless if it worked or not. I think that is why we were so successful of moving the ball on Baltimore, even though drives stalled when they shouldn't have.

the "run game" was BS....how about some play action...how about using willie'sspeed around end.....why no fullback...3rd and 1 and we go into the shotgun....BS

well I don't agree with shotgun empty on 3&1 I liked the fact we stuck to hte run game and kept the front 7 honest.

Forget about the shotgun. They went empty freakin' backfield on that play.

Complete BS.

I'm glad we stuck with the running game even though it wasn't executed as well as we like to see. You have to make the defense at least think that you're going to try and run, or else they just tee off on your QB (remember the Eagles game?) And remember, we left 2 or 3 TDs on the field:

1) FWP dropped a beautifully thrown pass from Ben as he was racing down the sidelines. He catches that and its most likely a TD.
2) Holmes's 'incomplete pass' that would have set us up with 1st and goal

3) Sweed's best impersonation of Dwight Stone since '89.

We could have easily put up 24pts in the first half alone. I am no Bruce Arians fan, but overall we got screwed by the ref on a key call, and shot ourselves in the foot a few times.
