Be in the Burgh Day, February 3rd

Postby mdsteel » Wed Jan 21, 2009 1:24 pm

:sufootballhelmet: Steeler Nation,

I want to throw a pitch out for Steelers fans across the nation to be in Pittsburgh on Tuesday February the 3rd if the Steelers win the Super Bowl. Last time we won there was over 250,000 people downtown for it, and it was one of the best days of my life as a Steelers fan, I got to high five Casey Hampton and Ike Taylor it was awesome!! And Troy went Body surfing in the crowd. Just Google it and you will see the pictures from that day. I am encouraging everyone to take the time off work and make your travel plans ahead of time; you can always change your plans if they do not win the game, but if you wait until after the game before thinking about it, then it’s going to be too late as Monday has to be your travel day. Last time the event, I do not want to say the “P” word as to give the Cards any bulletin board material started at 11am and you needed to be on the street at 9am to get in the first few rows, I would think it will be the same day again as players have to be on their way the Pro Bowl that night, but the Steelers will not put any word out until 11pm after the game is over on the 1st and I would expect the same this time. I may be wrong as I think the city was shocked that many people were there and one person at the hotel said they were expecting 50,000 people, boy was he way off his numbers and I remember parents being so upset because they sent the kids to school and did not take them downtown instead, I would expect the schools will be closed this time around as you cannot teach this kind of love and pride for the black and gold and the city of Pittsburgh in any class room. So start making plans now and let’s have over 300,000 show up in the Burgh this time. Please email this to others in Steelers Nation. Trust me, you will be glad you went if everything turns out the way we are all praying it does.
