Are the Steelers the best organization in sports?
Sportscenter wants to know! McLovin says yes. He admires the integrity of Mr. Rooney very much and his many contributions to the city of Pittsburgh and the NFL. He runs his team with class and dignity. McLovin likes the way he treats people with respect. McLovin admires Rooney for honoring his commitment to re-signing players after the city helped fund his new stadium. Stability is the key with the Steelers. With the exception of the Donohoe/Cowher feud the team has operately smoothly for nearly 40 years since the hiring of Chuck Noll. I'm sure Cook or Collier will have something to say about this Sportscenter question. What are your thoughts..any organization better? The Lakers? The Patriots? Yankees? Red Sox?

Hands Down the Pittsburgh Steelers are the best organization in sports. Fans also rank #1 in that category.

Steelers organization yes...Wilbon just said Patience and a skill for Rooney picking the right people to run his team are keys. McLovin agrees. Best fans? That's much bigger debate. The "fans" tried to run Terry Bradshaw out of town accusing him of being "dumb" etc. The "fans" trashed the reputations of Cowher and Kordell with false rumors about their personal lives. Does that show any class? Do Steeler fans travel as announcers always say when the towels come out on road games? Hell no... Some travel but most of us had to relocate due to shit economy in Pittsburgh so the myth that Steeler fans travel is grossly exaggerated.

Packers and Steelers are the class of football, with the edge going to the Steelers.
Lakers and Boston are the class of the NBA.
Yankees are the class of Baseball.
Because the sports are so different its hard to say who is the best. Football hass the advantage of only having to sell 8-10 games a year. Basketball and Baseball have to deal with either salary caps or selling 81 regular series games. So I would go against everything I find holy and say that the Yankees are the best organization in sports from a business standpoint, but I think with the way the NFL is built these days the Steelers are the best run organization from a sport standpoint.
But that could all be a load of crap, and at the end of the day Black and Gold reigns supreme.

Salary cap in football a good point. Baseball sorely lacking in that area unfortunately for the anti-Steelers the Pittsburgh Pirates

I'm sure there are Stiller fans who travel but I think there are many Stiller fans all over the nation ....in every NFL city....that is why you see so much gold in every stadium!
Rooneys are class, as is our team.

Colin Cowherd made a list earlier last week, using ONLY the past TEN years as his criteria.
He listed his top NFL organizations as such:
1. Patriots (3 SuperBowls)
2. Colts (8 play-off appearances in 9 years)
3. Eagles (5 NFCCGs for them in the past ten years; one SuperBowl appearance).
4. Everyone else.
I was perplexed that he omitted the Steelers.
Normally, I agree with Colin, but I was befuddled that he did not even consider the Steelers...
...especially over the Eagles...because, well, the Steelers have won a Lombardi Trophy (in addition to four AFCCG appearances in the past ten years).
I could agree with putting the Patriots one: they have three in the last decade.
But, the Colts, while they have a champioship, they have only been to one AFCCG.
And, again, the Eagles have not won the big game.
Anyway, after this SuperBowl (assuming Pittsburgh wins) they would be no doubt #2...
...and vying strongly for #1.

I agree this has the most to do with Steeler fans on the road. I live in Iowa and I've only been to Heinz once, but I've been to Stiller games in Chicago, Minnesota, KC, Cincy etc. Everytime I go I'm amazed at the number of Steeler fans and the fact that they're from all over. No matter what major city you go to you can always find a Steeler bar. My personal favorite is Play of the Day in Vegas.

^^ pretty much sums it up. A good read. Funny how we are ranked 1 (T) and the Cardinals are dead last before this season.
