Practice? We're talking about...practice?
SEVERAL STEELERS SIT OUT PRACTICE
Posted by Mike Florio on January 14, 2009, 11:44 p.m. EST
With a potentially epic showdown coming on Sunday against the Ravens, the Steelers are trying to get some of their guys a little extra rest.
On Wednesday, four starters missed practices for reasons other than injury: running back Willie Parker, receiver Hines Ward, defensive end Aaron Smith, and cornerback DeShea Townsend.
Starting center Justin Hartwig missed practice on Wednesday with a knee injury, and safety Troy Polamalu was absent due to a calf injury suffered on Sunday during pregame warmups.

Re: Practice? We're talking about...practice?
Tomlin has used this approach with Hines and some of the other veterans all year. I have read some articles where the players say they are not as gassed as they were at the end of last season. Tomlin did the same thing last week and we can not complain about the results.
The good news is that other than Troy and Hartwig we are injury free and they should be at 100%.

Saw a quote on ESPN bottom line that Troy said he "doubts he will miss the game on Sunday." McLovin would've preferred a "No way in hell I miss the CHAMPIONSHIP GAME against the RAVENS on Sunday."
