I am feeling confident about SUN...............and
that worries me.
The last 2 times I felt this good was vs. SD in 1994 and vs. NE in 2001
and we laid big fat eggs at home being a sizable favorite (we were the better team in both those games too)
I hope (1) Tomlin, and (2) Ben are the difference

I do not feel confident about Sunday.
I haven't felt confident about this team since they got their butts handed to 'em by Tennessee.

The cards got their butts handed to them on a snowy day up in New England a few weeks back. Some teams use an ass whipping to correct mistakes and to motivate them to do better.
Re: I am feeling confident about SUN...............and
this is rested team with confidence. they were gassed going into the tits game. I think this gets out of hand in our favor early in the second half.

Don't get me wrong.
It has nothing to do with the Steelers, necessarily. I, like this bloke, went into the Tennessee game with supreme confidence. However, the result did not mirror these feelings.
Ever since, I've been jumpy and nervous leading to the game and the Steelers have found a way to win. However, this isn't simply superstition. Some is, but not all.
The Ravens got luckier than Angelina Jolie's breastfeeding baby against the Titans. Good defense, my ass. They can call this the AFCCG or whatever the want to call it, but the fact of the matter is that it is just another game against the goddamned Ravens where crazy shit can happen and the Ravens can snatch this shit away from us and our team.

Re: I am feeling confident about SUN...............and
The 1994 Chargers loss hurt. That one beyond all was tough. Had we lost to the Harbaugh-led Colts, that would have been bad as well.
The Pats in 2001 was a Stewart-led team with horrific special teams playing a team that would game-plan better for the specific contest. I was not surprised by the loss, although certain parts of the implosion were agonizing.
I think this team is different. I am still amazed they won in Baltimore during the regular season.
The Ravens are tough, and they clearly think they are better than us. So we may lose. The Ravens will clearly be motivated and have that extra advantage of wanting to avenge the prior defeats.
But we have the experience advantage, the QB advantage, the health advantage, and likely the talent advantage. Hopefully, all of that will be enough. No guarantees though. Flacco should crack at some point, but we will have to watch the game to see. When Brady took over for Bledsoe way back when, he played well.

ill go on record again to say we will run away with this game by at least a 2-score lead.
The ravens are busted up, and barely stumbled their way into the AFCCG. Yes, they are good, play tough defense, but they got beaten up and outplayed by the titans. Just with a stroke of luck they happened to win. The steelers are riding high from a good performance on all phases of the game, from offense-defense-special teams, and I believe we have momentum on our side coming into this game.
although balt's defense is good, they're banged up, and their offense is a steaming pile of shit. The media is on flacco's nuts just because he didn't throw any interceptions, but they must have forgot this guy passed for only 161 yards and 50%. By how much the media is sucking his dick, you'd think he's the 2nd coming of joe montana or something, but that's far from being the case.
neither team is going to have success running the ball against the other defense, it's going to be a battle between ben vs flacco, and i like our chances.

I'm witchya on this one.
After that victory over the Colts, complete with the Bettis Blunder and the subsequent season-saving tackle by Ben 7 Alien Force, I thought it was our destiny.
and, sure enough...
...although, that AFCCG WAS in Denver, not Heinz...
Wha make you tink I won cutchu, mang?!?

I feel the Ravens will have more pressure on them than the Steelers. We've beaten them twice already so they have the pressure to prove they can beat us. I see them over compensating in areas and forcing...trying to make plays and ending up making mistakes.
My prediction is: a close game until late in the 2Q...Steelers up by 7 at the half (score: 10-3) The Steelers will pull away in the 3Q and Flacco will be picked off twice while trying to catch up. Big day for Troy. Woodley will get 2 sacks and Silverback will get the same...
Parker runs for 96 on 22 carries and 1 TD and Ben throws 2 touchdowns...one to Ward and one to Moore.
Final score: Steelers 27 Ravens 9

McLovin too feeling confident over a potential win over the Ravens. The Titans beat them up physically and statistically in that game. Chris Johnson had 72 yards in the first half before getting hurt and has a speed style similar to that of Fast Willie who appears to no longer be Fragile Willie. The Titans played that game without All pro center Kevin Mawae and were still able to run on the Ravens. As stated in the PG the Ravens have played 17 straight games having missed their bye week due to hurricane. Woodley coming on like a hurricane and will be going against and old and injured Willie Anderson. Steelers seem to be well rested and peeking offensively after high scoring affairs against Brownies and Chargers. If Collins can throw on the Ravens to stiffs like Bo Scaife can't Ben an experienced, Super Bowl test qb do the same? McLovin applauds the rookie qb and rookie coach for their efforts this season...but that season ends Sunday.

you do all understand that how we "feel" about this game is completely irrelevant, right? we've all had good feelings then the stillers got their asses handed to them and vice versa. doesn't matter.

I'm feeling pretty confident about Sunday, and also about getting Number Six this year.
As for the 1994 AFCCG vs. the Chargers -- here's the consolation for us all, in retrospect -- there is no way the Stillers would have beaten Steve Young's Niners that year in the SB. We would have done better than the Chargers, but I think no one was stopping Young that year. Would have been a bad loss for the B&G.

Yes, '94 sucked. But We had O'Donnell/Cowher. I feel way better with Tomlin/Ben. Cowher was never a great big-game coach. He was good in the regular season. But his playoff record wasn't great, until he had Wiz who was brilliant as OC. FWP is healthy, and Arians seems to be willing to stick with the running game. To be honest, I think the Ravens are in for a big fucking surprise. I think we're clicking, and they're scraping by. We're healthier and have momentum.
My prediction:
Stillers: 27
Ravens: 13
