Scalping a ticket for the game...

Postby steelslep » Tue Jan 13, 2009 7:10 pm

Ok fellas...I do not want to drive 6 hours from Jersey WITHOUT a ticket but...what are my chances of scalping on sunday night? I'd rather not drop $250 on stubhub or Ebay...any thoughts?

They will be asking more than $250 out in the parking lots. $250 is a bargain - this is a championship game. There may be some luck to get a $100 ticket if you wait until mid 1st quarter - there will be a dozen others waiting to do the same.

Wish the old 3-rivers days were around when you could slip the ticket-taker a $20 and walk right in.

Don't be so sure, Iron. Last week, Scalpers were asking for a measly 30$!!!! for a ticket! I couldn't believe it.. I also had an extra ticket to get rid of and only could get 20$ for it. Reports were that there were thousands of tickets around, and people simply didn't want to make the trip for weather reasons and for whatever other reason.

Since the weather will be more of the same, and it will be Sunday Night, maybe they will be cheaper than they were in past years, but it IS the Championship. Rolling the dice will take balls.

Don't buy any tickets from far out. They will be twice the price of those close to the stadium.
Don't panic that there won't be any tickets closer in. There will be. Especially because it will be cold and some just can't take it (weak, I know).

Scalping is easy if you have a little experience or someone just tells you how to do it. Whatever the first price they give you turn around and walk away like they are crazy to try to sell them for that price. I don't think you are looking at prices too out of control. The tickets will be there. Trust it. Don't panic. And if I'm wrong, watch it at one of the bars close by and it will be almost as much fun since you are right there.

If wou want to do something in between stubhub and live scalper: I'm trying to sell 2 extras and would highly prefer not to sit next any Ratbird fans... Flying in from Denver on Saturday and staying at the Hilton downtown if anyone wants to buy them... They're in 524 about half way up and cost me $125 directly from the Steelers, so if anyone's interested let me know...

Looking forward to getting back to the 'burgh! Here we go Steelers!
