Mitch Berger, the new secret weapon?
I was concerned going into the Chargers game about the massive disparity of punting skills between Mike Scifres and Mitch Berger. One week later, I'm laughing as Scifres obviously outkicked the beejeezus of his coverage, and Berger's short punts are continuing to mesmerize teams not accustomed to seeing the ball drop behind their blocking, as opposed to in front of them. Poor Eric Weddle.
In the right spot, is Berger's punting a good thing? Jim Leonhard's return skills scare me, and it would be really nice to see him stuck to fair catching the dying quails off of Berger's foot.

Re: Mitch Berger, the new secret weapon?
Becareful talking about Berger and short punts. He had a 43.5 yd average for the game (4 punts).
He has been better the past couple of games. He just needs to keep the hang time. Scifries did out kick his coverage on the Holmes return. On later punts he was trying to get hang time and it cost him on distance.
We need repeat of the special teams effort this week (minus the 70 yds kick off return).
GOOOOOO STEELERS. PUMMEL THE RATBIRDS

:
A MUCH better effort is needed by coverage units against the Raven than the Chargers. Harbaugh a special teams coach at heart and will exploit the type of piss poor coverage we witnessed at times versus the chargers this past week.
