the media ect is gonna have a big letdown this sunday...

Postby darthsteel » Mon Jan 12, 2009 11:11 pm

Thier building this up without realizing the stillers are fresh and the ravens are dealing with a ton of injuries ,plus they were running on fumes in the titans game.

The score will be close for 2 qts, then the stillers will pull away like the charger game on the tired ravens and flaco will have to put the ball in the air which will lead to turnovers in the 2nd half on the ravens side of the field.

Major letdown coming for the raven fans and the media.

The first 2 games were against a 100% healthy rested ravens team playing a steeler team with a 50% willy and ben,,,, big difference when those 2 are near 100% as we seen on sunday.

Steelers 30-17 with the ravens getting some garbage points like the chargers did when the game was over.

A tired banged up ravens defense agaist a oline that has had time to gel and a healthy qb/running back should equall alot of points for the steelers sunday.

Right on, Darth...Steelers are gonna lay a beat down on Ray-Ray and the rest of the convicts...sick and tired of hearing about the vaunted Ratbird defense...fuck that team...

Steelers 28
Ratbirds 10

Not that close...Ratbirds score a TD with 45 seconds left...

I thought the same thing about how the media talks like the Ravens defense is this specime not to be reckoned with. They are a tough bunch, but this year they showed signs of vulnerability, and after watching Tennessee find cracks in that defense and watching the Titans pretty much beating them up.. WE ARE STILL THE NUMBER ONE DEFENSE IN THE LEAGUE.. and a team that is 2-0 against these guys for the season, and yet all we hear about is how are we going to manage against a "tough Baltimore Defense.."

Fuck that, is everyone forgetting we are number fucking 1 in the league and that the crown comes through our house? The first two games were close, but my gut tells me we have our way with this team the third time around. Hail to Stiller Nation. I hope I'm right.

-o-line has stepped it up and finally looks to have their stuff together
-parker is for the first time since the texans game, healthy
-ben's shoulder looks like it's finally back to normal, he was throwing some lasers
-ben doesn't show ill effects after the concussion. he actually looked sharp even under pressure
-the team doesn't have any injuries coming out of the SD game

-ravens are banged up
-ravens strength is their defense. and ours is better.
-they don't have the playmakers the steelers do
-their offensive scheme looks a lot like cowhers, play not to lose. that's why they're not gonna win the AFCG
-they really should have lost to tenn last week, they were lucky to get out of there with a W. titans had like what, 3 turnovers in the red zone, and over 100 penalty yards and they barely squeak out the win? They got outplayed, out-physical'd, and beat up the entire game. Tenn just proved you just won't win a game turning the ball over that many times, and missing a FG a clutch kicker should really make. Not to mention a non-call on the delay of game penalty. So many things went against the titans, that I believe if they were playing any one of the other playoff teams with that performance, they would have gotten blown out worse than they did vs the jets.

we will win this by a more comfortable margin than our first 2 games. the first meeting we had willie and ben banged up, 2nd meeting we were pretty nicked up still and just came off 2 tough games vs the pats and cowboys. now the team is finally healthy, rested, and seems to be clicking on all cylinders. not good news for the ravens, we should run away with this one by 2 scores or greater

i'm not gonna be like the titans fans and guarantee anything though, this is the NFL and despite the injuries, baltimore is still tough. they made it to the championship game for a reason. Not to mention the steelers' track record in AFC championship games isn't very good. This is Tomlin's opportunity to prove his ability to get the team ready for the big games. He passed the first test, but next week will be tougher than the chargers.

I ee what you mean about the media hype around the Raven's D, but actually think the Media is going to love it if the Steelers can make beat the Ravens and make it to the Super Bowl because there is a story for every either match up:

Eagles Verse Steelers themes= All PA superBowl, Can Steelers protect Ben / how many time will Ben be sacked.

Cardinals Verse Steelers themes = Did the Rooney's make the right hire? Undrafted superstars - Warner, Harrison, Parker
