Game plan for the Ravens

Postby madtowndrunkard » Mon Jan 12, 2009 12:57 pm

I certainly hope we use the no huddle offense next week. It's pretty obvious that Ben is more comfortable calling his own plays rather then running Arian's random / no logic calls series after series.

SD had our offense shut down until late in the 2nd quarter when we started running the no huddle. I'm guessing Arians got a talking to during half time, because suddenly our offense started clicking in the 3rd quarter. The crazy idea of going with what is working in the 3rd quarter actually worked....who would have thunk it? I've never seen an OC do such a good job of taking away any possible chance of establishing a rhythm in my life.

All we did in the 2nd half was pound the ball. The O-line won that game in the 2nd half. It was apparent to me that we were blowing SD off the ball in the first quarter. But it took us till the 3rd quarter to take advantage.

VS the Ravens I'd use the no huddle and I'd pound the ball...and just get positive yards. If we don't turn the ball over vs the Ratbirds we easily win. So I think a conservative game plan makes the most sense offensively. Don't ask Ben to win the game, ask him to manage it.

Defensively if we just pressure Flacco it's over.

Game plan for the Ravens? Easy

Abduct Flacco's sister and tie her up and feed her to the rats in Heinz Field basement.
Abduct Flacco himself before game time and hold his uni-brow ransom.
..Every offensive player that would be involved in the O-Game plan, will carry knives in their pouch pocket, just in case fore their own protection.
Murder the Ravens via scoreboard and frame Gay-Ray so justice serves him for committing murder in the first place.
Last but not least... Feed Stiller Nation some steroids before the game so their voices lift the stadium from its roots.

I think it's pretty obvious.

Ravens need turnovers like every offense needs points.

The Steelers must be coached that Raven defenders will go for turnovers first.

Balmer's offense plays right into Stillers' hands: conservative (50-some rushing yards vs Tenn / only 9 first dwns??!?)
Hide Flacco all you want this week.

The more talented Pittsburgh offense affords themselves wiggle-room.

Barring Pic-6, etc. i simply can not envision a Baltimore AFCC Game victory.
