field position
I don't know how hard this stat would be to find, but I would like to find out what the average starting field position was for the Steeler offense this year as opposed to the starting field position of our opposition. It seems to me that Ben and company were always starting on their own 25 or less and the opponent was always starting on their 35 or better. Mind you, this is just in relation to the piss ass punting game we have, not the kickoffs. If anyone can find that answer, please do.

BigE;
Sorry, I can not answer you on the stat. I agree SD has the edge on the punter. However, I don't think all hope is lost in this area. Berger has averaged 45 per punt his last 2 or 3 games and Scrifies averages 51 against the colts.
What is most impressive about Scifries is he was having punts die inside the 10. This is something I have not really seen from Berger but Sepulveda did give us.
The easiest way to combat field position is with a few first downs from the offense. One thing lost in all of our offensive woes has been a fair number of drops by Nate, Hines, and Tonio.
Keep the faith. I think Tomlin and Co will have the troops more than ready.

Here's a suggestion re: Scifres..........a blocked punt to make him think.
Didn't they block one during the regular season?
Fire Bruce Arians.

Re: field position
The punter situation is a nuisance, but I think our red zone performance and our turnovers (well Ben's turnovers) will be what does us in this year.
