Cocaine Cowboys
Not sure if anyone has posted this before, but it's a GREAT documentary on the real cocaine wars of the late 70s to early 80s. One of the featured drug dealers relates a story about "the entire Steelers line" doing copious amounts of cocaine before the Superbowl and guaranteeing a win!

Re: Cocaine Cowboys
This was a fantastic movie. I was riveted from beginning to end.
They actually made a second one that deals primarily with the Godmother of the first movie. I haven't seen it yet, but I came across it at the video store one day. I want to check it out because she was seriously demented.
I, too, remember the story about the drug and the Steelers.
Really a great movie, though.

That drug dealer later admitted that he made up the story to a movie producer who was willing to fund a movie about athletes and celebs who used cocaine while at the top of their careers. He also recanted many other of the stories he had documented.
Though it is likely that the players of that time did a lot of drugs that this could have happened b4 many big games.

I remember reading a story by Ken Stabler about the 70's Raiders, he said the training staff kept an open bowl of speed \ amphetamines for anyone to help themselves. It was probably the same everywhere.
