Forget the Steelers and Tenn say's Joe Theismann !

Postby Rocklobster » Wed Dec 31, 2008 11:05 am

The former qb jumped into the 'picke em' stakes for the super bowl. In a article in the West Palm Beach daily, Theismann say's the winner of the Dolphin's-Baltimore game should be top dog. He claims the Fins have improved more than any AFC team with Baltimore improving second most.
He also thinks Baltimore's defense is more brutal and hard hitting then Pittsburgh's.
Adding to Pittsburgh's relative weakness is the sub par play of Roethlisberger this year and the true lack of a major running attack. He feels the Steelers are a weak number two seed. And adds that Kerry Collins is not battle tested and should not make anyone weak in the knees, hence the number one seed may very well fall.   :? :? :D

Don't agree with the Miami pick. Dolphins play smart and tend to keep it close but their offense is a big liability.

Ravens, Chargers, Tenn, Colts and Pit all have the same chance. Haven't seen a wide-opened AFC playoff like this season, in a while. All the teams have weakenesses the other can expose.. should be a fun ride.

I have Pit vs Ravens in the afc championship though

I think that Pittsburgh, given a second shot against either the Chargers or Dolts can beat them (under the assumption of a Baltimore win, of course). I also think that the Steelers match up well against the Dolphins and could beat them. I'm a little afraid to play the Rats again, but think that it is fitting that those two teams should play for the AFC Championship.

Then again, the NFL playoff chips rarely fall the way they should, so Theismann could just as easily be right.

It's Joe Theismann. Does anybody take him seriously? Has anybody EVER taken him seriously?

Theismann is a womanly Mickey Rooney, no one listens to him.

It's why they actually play the damn game.

Let's see....did Joe T. pick Miami and Baltimore at the beginning of the preseason to be where they are at now? I don't know, but it would tell us how much of a prophet he really is.

Joe Thiesman is an idiot. I've lived in the DC area for the last 30 + years and watched him as the qb for the redskins. When the team whon it was all about Joe (according to Joe) and when they lost it was always someones elses fault. He was /is a highly overated pompus ass. I still remeber cheering when he got his leg broke and was finished as a qb.

How about a all PA superbowl

Theisman is BOOB of epic proportions. The next good pick he makes will be his first. He road the coatails of John Riggans and the best offensive line in the history of the NFL..not to mention a HOF WR.

If you want to listen to anyone...listen to Steve Young.. He is usually pretty accurate...not to mention he was 10x the player Theisman could ever dream of being.
