Speed Kills

Postby John Wise » Thu Jan 01, 2009 10:43 am

:subngtowl: Greetings Steelers fans, this is my first time writing in to the Stiller’s site. As a native “Burger” living up north in Western New York for forty years I read as many Steelers News sites as I can. (Other site's name removed by moderator) though is my favorite. Not just for the bull’s eye accuracy of the team’s break down, but also for the wit and bite that goes with it. Now for my two cents on this season...
First on Bubba Arians, what an ASS, I read the article on his view of the 05 playoff run. Hey stupid. Your Passing game was only dominated in the Denver game. The Cinny game was slightly heavy on the passing side do to a trick play that is now lost in the hazy and the colt’s game produce most the passing yards in the fist two drives. But beyond that crap which is Big Juicy Brucy. This season is full of mistakes as the usage of the Tight End in the Passing game, crappy block from your 2nd tight end, the inability to adjust to the jail break blitz during the game and vanilla offense at the goal line just to name few. What I have not read about or had anyone mention is the biggest weakness of a below average offensive line. What does Philly, Indy, Dallas, Giants and when they matched up the Titans have? Small, FAST defensive lines that just totally confuse, out hustle and just fly passed the slow oversized buffoons that play on the Steelers line. Philly was the first sign that speed would be a problem. But the neon sign lit up after the Titans game. When an (for a defensive tackle) small 1st year rookie from Western Michigan eats up on you for 3 sacks. The guy is either the second coming of Deacon Jones or your coaching staff has missed the bus on this problem. Fans speed kills and if our beloved Steelers go down, speed, not size will be the major factor. Thanks for the ear.

John,

Welome to Stillers.com. Glad to have you posting here. Please take a moment to read our policy & rules page http://forums.stillers.com/viewforum.php?f=12

Excellent 1st post. I agree speed kills, especially as it applies to our O-line. Our OT's have major issues with speed rushers. This will be a problem for the Steelers in the play-offs.
