Does Cowher WANT to coach again?
I ask b/c he will not even sit down with the Jets, will not talk to CLE, etc.
Is he holding out for KC? Dallas? Denver? Detroit?
I don't get it - NY would have been a good fit for him I think.

Hard telling.
On the other hand, wherever he ends up, HE IS THEN THE ENEMY. My interest / concern with Bilbo terminated when he resigned.
He can have all the success he wants in the coaching ranks provided that it does not come at the expense of the Steelers.

I don't think that he does.
I also don't think that he should.
Sit in the booth, talk with the guys all morning and afternoon about football, and call it a day.
Why would he want to coach again?

Re: Does Cowher WANT to coach again?
I gotta agree, I don't think he really wants to coach (pro's) again, but I do think he is enjoying the limelight.
If the guy wants to coach again, he ought to coach a college team. A lot less work, still decent pay, and if you win, you become god-like in the area. I think he'd be a much better college coach than re-entering the pro's. College is about recruiting and teaching the players not to make mistakes, both of which he could do well. Pro is about talent management under the cap and strategy. It's a lot harder.

It is just nice to see somebody on CBS show respect to the Steelers.

I do love the fact that he has remained loyal to us, a Steelers homer, if you will

All the reports I've heard say he wants control over personnel decisions. That's what he's holding out on. He's already said in so many words that he'll coach again.

Re: Does Cowher WANT to coach again?
I just heard on espn that the lack there of a Q/B with the Jets is a big problem with b/c lets face it the jets are in trouble, they have no Q/B !!!why would he want to go to an organation that trades there q/b to a div rival and it comes back to bite them, dumb move !!!!!mikeyg wrote:I ask b/c he will not even sit down with the Jets, will not talk to CLE, etc.

Re: Does Cowher WANT to coach again?
The Chin is going to sit out the 2009 season because of the daughter/high school reason, unless he gets the proverbial offer he can't refuse. Think he'll stay at CBS, and then return to the sidelines in 2010.
Incidentally, I think he's very good as a studio analyst dude. (I also like Marino on the show, although he's intellectually lazy, Boomer is pretty good, even Shannon Sharpe is ok...hate James Brown though). There, you're welcome for this critical review.
