I pity the team who draws the Rats in round 1.

They destroyed Dallas. I think we will beat them should we meet...but I would honestly rather see the Colts.

Broncos
Jets
Colts
Ravens
Patriots
Dolphins

.. from those 6 teams.. it really doesn't matter who we face. We are clinched, and pretty much control our own destiny.. I know that is said ALOT, but, it's true. I believe with this defense, and by the way we are a team that just can't be put away, out of those 6 teams, I say bring whoever on, anywhere, anytime, whether it be Baltimore, Indy, or even N.E

We control our fate, and I feel we can handle anybody who steps foot in our house.

I agree that we can take anyone down.

Ravens are Colts would be my least favorite matchups. However, I think i would take the Ravens over the Colts.

We go as far as our offense will allow us. Our D is a lock. If the offense can put up 20pts with no costly turnovers, we will be in the Super Bowl.

The Rats can run the ball. Even if they don't get 4+ yards they have physical players that enjoy the contact that comes with a two or three yard gain. Baltimore is a classic wear you down team. You don't want to be trailing by to much vs. them late in the game, b/c they will physically test your will to compete. Fundamentally this team does so much right that having a rookie playing QB is not a big problem vs. even competition. This team will be dangerous because of its ability to make other teams strengths average while continuing to pound the pill. :supimpin:

Agreed.

Agreed here also.

Baltimore is VERY dangerous. I certainly want to see Pittsburgh take a tough road in the playoffs. I don't want to give 'everyone else' something to discredit the Steelers on if they go the distance. Didn't play anybody, etc.

I guess when it gets to the playoffs, every team in is there for a reason and it's really not an easy game any step of the way... But the harder the competition, the more gratifying it will be if they can take the victory.

I wouldn't be surprised if this projection turns out to be 100% accurate. I'm with ya here.

Wouldn't it be great if they got a chance to beat Baltimore for the third time in such a trash-talk-filled year coupled with two close games... One shrouded in controversy?... In the AFC friggin' Championship game???

Here's to hoping.

Baltimore 31, Miami 3
Indy 38, SD 21

Tennessee 16, Baltimore 7 (Flacco not effective against good "D".)
Indy 20, Stillers 14 (Ben gets hurt in 3rd Qtr.)

Tennessee 30, Indy 27 (OT)

Hmm...I remember another time indy was heavily favored by everyone over a seemingly harmless chargers team...then there was another...and another...

I like the chargers to make good strong run in the playoffs.

For the record, their schedule was pretty much as brutal as ours, so, I won't be underestimating them for anything.

Speaking of history speaking volumes.

Indy 20, Stillers 14 (Ben gets hurt in 3rd Qtr.)

Are you serious? are you really serious? Yeah, I can see the score. But with 14 sounds like the kinda score ben produces.

Have you even taken a GLANCE at this season? If Ben is hurt in any playoff game, it will in no way decrease our chances at a victory. I can absolutely guarantee that.

When is the last time Ben went out in a game, and our offense did worse?

That's right, kids! Tommy Maddox.

Furthermore, if you would have asked me if Ben can run the ship through the playoffs, I would have said yes for every year (making me dead wrong on two years)...except this one. I've lost a lot of confidence in him, and if our defense wasn't one of the greatest of all time, we'd barely have a shot at a wildcard spot.

Indy struggles against San Diego, I wouldn't pencil them in regardless of their season records. One has to look at their head to head games to get a clearer picture of this one.

A sore Tomlinson will help, but an absent Tomlinson last year didn't.

Barely having a shot at a wildcard is simply just one game difference, as the 11-5 Patriots missed an invite.

I agree with ya jstall...I do not wanna see the ratbirds again in the playoffs. It's tough enough to beat a good team twice in one year, but three times...

I don't care about any tough road in the playoffs, nor do I care about any potential criticism of 'didn't play anybody'. Any such criticism would be pretty weak, and from a fan of one of the losers anyway.

My hopes for this weekend:

- Fish over Ratbirds (clearly the game of the weekend)
- Punk McNabb loses at Minn
- SD upset of Indy
- don't care much about Atl vs Arz, but I'll root for Atl because I want Matt Ryan to do well in the wake of Dog Boy

I took into account the OC...... This does not necessarily imply the outcome would have been different with Ben playing the entire game.

It's interesting people are commenting about the offense performing better under Lefty (which I don't necessarily agree with), yet hardly anyone is screaming to start him. Yet due to the concussion, if there is a game I think Lefty should start, it's this first playoff game.

if ben gets hurt they score over 20 pts, unless the score was 0 up to the point of injury

Ah, I guess we are in agreement then. Shame is, Tomlin is too scared to make a ballsy decision like that.

For the record, I wasn't necessarily screaming for it, but I was certainly calling for Lefty to start.

He looked reasonably decent against that tough Balt d other than a couple "WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU THINKING?!?" plays, though that was mostly because of Arians actually calling :o SHORT PASSES.

But after the game in Tenn, I'm pretty much screaming. :supissed:

Ben is streakier than Will Ferrell in old school (awful reference, I know), and I'm fucking sick of it.
