Wow! Not what I expected

Postby voltan » Sun Dec 21, 2008 10:57 pm

First off, I hope Harrison and Clark are okay for you guys.

Those who have seen my posts know I was not expecting anywhere close to 24 pts being put up by the Titans offense but Collins played the best I've seen to date. He has to keep it up.

Two teams I am concerned about in the playoffs are the Ravens and your Steelers. I won't be shocked to see you guys again provided both teams make it to the AFC Championship. For 3 quarters I saw a great matchup by two great teams. Thanks to Lendale (not a smart move) he just added some extra "sauce" to a black and gold team that I am sure is eager for a rematch.

Props to the Titan rookies, they came through like I had hoped and provided needed depth with Haynesworth and Vanden Bosch out.

Thanks for the hospitality and good luck til we meet again! Go Titans! :celebrate:

Voltan,

I've never said this before, but you are the only non-Steeler fan welcome back at "OUR" (Am I allowed to say that WoodsonofSteel?) site! I have read a lot of venomous post this past two weeks between the Ravens and Titans games, and it's refreshing to have friendly banter amoung opposing fans.

I hope you aren't right, I hope we donn't get another shot at you guys. I just got my AFCCG tickets in the mail and if we see you guys that means my ticket is worth SH**!

Thanks for the props Steel_Buckeye, I appreciate it.

I'm not one for smack talk and I have strong respect the Steelers. My two favorite receivers are Hines Ward and Derrick Mason (though it is not as easy since he became a Raven). Does Hines ever not smile on the field of play?

Also Troy Polamalu, since we couldn't get him, we had to settle for Chris Hope, oh well! :D

On another note, here is what Fisher had to say on the towel incident
(On some Titans players stomping on the Terrible Towel)

Well, we’re not about those things. I really think this. To our players, that’s just a towel. That’s all it is, is a towel. They don’t understand the significance or the meaning of the towel itself to the organization, the Steelers history or the Steelers fans. On one hand I think they were having fun and just playing with a towel. It was certainly not a shot at the organization or the players or the staff or the fans. Our players have great respect for the Pittsburgh Steelers and what they’ve accomplished. They were talking in the locker room after the game about what a good football team that was. So this was just a couple guys playing around with a towel. It was unnecessary in my opinion.

Probably not going to change many opinions, but there ya go!

After a 4 game stretch that included @NE, DAL, @BAL and @TEN our defense had nothing left in the 2nd half. Ben brought us back and gave us a lead but the defense did not have that extra intesity which is required to stop a very good/great team like the Titans. I WELCOME essentially 2 bye weeks as we should have our intensity and focus back for the playoffs.

You said it, brother. Here are some of the Walt Coleman highlights:

--allowing Big Ben to drive 92 yards on him.

--throwing an interception (to William Gay) to end the game.

Walt shoudl be ashamed of those two plays...ashamed, I say.

Ben drove 91 yards.
Walt Coleman One Yard TOUCHDOWN !!!

I will say it again. Funny how you couldn't win this week if the refs didn't cheat for you !!

Is there an ignore feature on this board?

Because, if so, that would be awesome.

Your vaunted defense choked away their lead. Even if Coleman didn't "give" the Steelers the TD, Pittsburgh would have tied the game (i.e. field goal).
Once again, did Coleman allow Ben to drive those 91 yards?...or, was it Ray-Ray & Co.???

Speaking of last minute drives, how did Flacco fare???

Also, speaking of blown calls...

Lastly, you are correct: the Steelers would probably be 3-13 if the refs did not help them.
Similarly, Detroit should probably be 14-2, if it weren;t for the refs...that call on Gosder Cherilus was BS.

You sya that was a bad call. Though numerous Balt Ravens players who were on the feld and close to the play stated that it was a T.D. one of those was Ray Ray himself. In an interview your HC stated that the receiver had both feet in the EZ and he believed that the call was a good one. So shut the F up you retarded idiot.

When in comes to Class and Excellence the Ravens will never come close to the Steelers.

Angry? Huh?

Angry would be talking about a play that occurred two weeks ago, a play which the head of officiating (Mike Pereira) analyzed and declared as the correct call.

EDREED20 is Jeffrav1. I recognize several of his catch phrases, and his abysmal command of the English language. He's a regular in the troll pantheon, a sniveling little shit who only pokes his pimply head out of the basement door when his Ratbirds are on a roll. Didn't hear from him last season, remember? Because they sucked holy ass...now, with the Purple Pissants' seeming resurgence, there is old Jeffy again, this time as EDREED20. He'll disappear for good if the Ravens tank this Sunday, or whenever they revert to form and clutch out of the playoffs. Hey, Jeffy, how's your impetigo-infected, crack-addicted, fucked-out pusguts skank of a mother doing? Still spreading the syphilis to the Navy? How did you enjoy losing twice to the Steelers? Did it sting?
