Re: New Article: Notes from The Still Curtain
By the way, some of you took exception to my criticisms of Tomlin....how did you like yet another UNDISCIPLINED penalty? Cost us 4 points! That COULD have been the margin of victory.
It was a crap call on the kind of stuff that goes on on FG, XP tries every time...it was only called, IMHO, as a "make-up" call for the PI call the officials SHOULD have called, but picked up the flag for some reason.
And as I said, this kind of stuff went on under Cowher all the time as well- you have a very selective memory. We didn't take exception to your criticisms of Tomlin...only your selective memory when you declared "This stuff would NEVER have taken place under Cowher".

Criticize Tomlin? How could you? He is the next Chuck Noll. hahaha
I agree Tomlin still needs to learn how to adjust during the game, step in and make decisions whether they be on schemes or on play calling he needs to mature. Can no longer blame Arians. Tomlin loves him and Arians will be here for a long time.
We could have cut loose Foote, Smith (7M a year that is a fing joke)Hampton, and eery other O-Lineman we have none are even good enough to be bench warmers on another team hell Cleveland has a better O-Line.
Farrior unlike what everyone's god Mill would say needed to be kept and has played a lot better than people say. His staying though has mre to do with his mind. He knows how to call the D and is a good leader for the young LBers who respect him.
Ben R unlike popular belief has BECOME a lost puppy. He has no clue how to read a D and he is not accurate enough on a consistant basis to throw the ball to a spot, He has the worst deep ball in the NFL and does not make good decisions. I know a lot of that can beblamed on the O-Line and play calling. I still say we should go back to quick slants and outs what he thrived at in his rookie year. This would takea lot of pressure off of him and build confidense and hey Arians it worked he was 15 - 1 had a good QB rating. The other problem and I have said this over and over agin the receivers are not making adjustments to routes when the shit hits the fan and Tonio rarely even looks back and Nate never looks back Ward is slipping also in that dept. he looks back but often too late or he cant adjust. Maybe they still dont know how Ben will react and thus there is little mojo between them. Miller is a big target quick hits screens, he gets good YAC again the HC doesnt seem to see things and can not make adjustments. I like Ken Anderson but if he cant coach or is not given the power to do so we need to find someone who will do so.
FWP I believe a lot of his problem is mental. I believe that he is afraid of getting hurt again. his hesitation is showing that he is running not to get hurt. I like Moore also and we have yet to truely see the rookie because of injury.
Tis team other than the 2 line has a ton of talent we need to get the most out of them and replace both lines

One last thought...."Stillerz Bar" picture is the best thing ever, over on the message board! Congrats on lookin like that!!
WOW - I made it into an article after reading here since 1999 & posting since 2002 (I think) - I'm honored!!
That pic is a freind of a friend pic that he sent me about 5 years ago - just seemed REALLY appropriate for my stiiler.com avatar. Been using it ever since then when it replaced the pic I had of our Steelers Bar - dumpy bar pic vs. hot babe pic with a Steelers logo in just the right spot, no real choice there. Always happy when I can help make a Steelers fan smile.

Why dont they throw to FWP? What I suspected, he cant catch? Most times I see him catching a pass he is always standing still. Probably in practice the coachs see what he looks like to trying to catch a pass on the run? Moore's the horse to ride for now and he can catch on the run. FWP looks tenatitive.
We lost to the Tit mouses because of turnovers, missed FG and another game changing weird penalty. Allmost as bad as running into the kicker the last time we played em. Roth fumble +3 (maybe +7), missed a chip shot +3, weird penalty (+4) = we might have to play Balt .
Yeah, we beat em twice on game ending drives. Care to shoot for 3?
Tenn really was up for this game, I believe the game line favored us .
Gee, Mr. L. White let me check your stomp:
Roth passed for 323 yds, a season high?
Pitt: 6/13 on 3rd Down (46%); 374 Total Yards; 4 Turnovers
Tenn: 3/14 on 3rd Down (21%); 323 Total Yards; 0 Turnovers
I failed to read Steelers Digest (Ravens game) before the Tenn game, as sure precursor to disaster! Why, they didnt send it on time, still dont have it! The loss record on that stat hasn't failed yet.
That' some good bs
Ok,Ok we got some warts. But we can play these boys if we check the mistakes at the door.
Forget Steelers run football, we cant run it down there throat and say try and stop us and point to where we are going to run. That Bus has left.
We still got the D!
Frist n goal: up the gut twice vs good D is not a great idea? Reverse it, pass 1 & 2 and maybe run on 3rd, if within one yard only? Or is it one inch?
