Funny, I was just thinking that our defense looked pretty vanilla ... with very little pressure on the QB. Offensively, unfortunately, I think what you saw is what we have....I hope I'm wrong.

I don't know if it was intended or if that is just the way the game unfolded...of course I don't think you'll get a coach to say so either way.

The Steelers clearly lacked the intensity needed to win a game like this. Can't blame them..coming off highly emotional and physical games. This is why they looked "vanilla." They were pretty flat.
I expect a very different game if we are playing there in the AFC championship game.

There was some TV character saying that the Steelers didn't exactly play the Titans to win the game. It would have been nice to have won the game, but it wasn't necessary, as it was for the Panthers. The Panthers have been great at home and average on the road, so they really wanted to win that game. The Steelers, OTOH, have shown that they can win both at home and on the road, so they didn't need to win the game. Couple that with what others have said that they were coming off of some tough games and they just fell flat on their faces. It happens.

Actually, Arians decided to do the opposite: he used every crappy play he had in the playbook, just to confuse the Titans.
Here is a transcription of a conversation that he had with his offensive players

ARIANS: "Hmmm, the delayed draw has yet to work this year. Maybe...hmmm...YES...we will run that play four...no, five...yes, five times in the game. That way, the Titans have no clue as to which plays I would actually call, were we to play them again in the play-offs."

BIG BEN: "Uh, but wouldn't that play simply suck???"

ARIANS: "Yes, that is the genius of it: it sucks so badly, that the Titans would never see it coming."

WARD: "But, wouldn't that create negative yardage???"

ARIANS: "Huh?"

Cello,we watched the game together and both of us know that his playcalling has been below average all year,i will hold out a 5% chance that you have something here but in the end our dee didnt have it today,better to get this one out of the way now !! our dee needs a much needed rest

This has been evident all year long.

Seems week-in and week-out, someone hides the playbook from Arians. Proof? Running the same 5-10 plays over-and-over throughout the game.

This isn't Madden, Bruce.

The playbook is not the problem. Let's try EXECUTION of the called plays and we might be on to something.

On the other hand, MAYBE Arians does have them practice some Keystone Cop plays. You know, just in case.

Bruce actually hid his playbook before the first game of the season for safe keeping, he's that dumb he forgot where he put it, . . . . he didn't find time to get a new one completed, so Bruce quickly scribbled on a piece of A3 with multicoloured felt tips, laminated it and has been seen waving that around every Sunday since!!
