Apparently Colbert finally figured out that Marvel wouldn't play another down this year after missing the last TEN games, with no end in sight. Any number of players could have been considered to be signed to the roster with Mr. Achy Back having his annual ailing back, but Colbert staunchly refused to do so until 5 days prior to the season finale.

That Colbert -- he's a very clever, shrewd dude.

Does Trai Essex still occupy a place on this roster??!?!?!!

Colbert will use that extra roster spot to sign Paul Ernster.

When asked about it, Colbert replied:
"I had been going back and forth between the two, Berger & Ernster...then I figured it out: we can have both."

Sad thing is Colbert should have known in the offseason that Marvel woldn't make it through the season healthy, and signed someone.

Remember Willie Anderson was available but Colbert let the Ravens get him.

aw man! I was hoping we could slap him with the franchise tag (for a mere $7 million) like we did with Starks, then keep him on the bench for half the season! Oh well...maybe next year.
