Miller
OK. This guy is pretty reliable receiving....but geez...he can't block worth a shit.
Make me want Bruener to come back
Somebody might have taped the game and might have a better perspective. It just seems like to me this clown is constantly getting whipped on the run plays.
Then, to make matters worse, Arians trots out a three tight end set! Are you kidding me! Come on Bruce. Still, despite the fact that we have three "big bad blocking TEs" in the game, we still can't produce! Holy smokes.

Re: Miller
Lemme drop some alliteration on ye.
Poor personnel planning.
Heath is a great receiving TE. He shouldn't be involved in the run game. Unfortunately, I'm thinking Arians believes Heath's inability to run-block can be over-looked. Stay with me here... I think it's Arians thinking toooo much about it. It's a matter of 'deception'. I think he's like that third-grade school-yard play-calla. All... You go here and you do this... I'll hit ya right there. That kinda thinking. I think because of his shiftiness, he's not using the right players in the right situations. This is limiting our offense.
Then again...
Maybe Heath just needs to learn to block or step down to... Wait a second... He's the best blocking TE we have??? Shit.

Re: Miller
Here is an idea: have Heath run patterns and...wait...catch the ball.
No, he can not block. Yes, he can catch.
Yet, he stays in to block 85% of the time.
It baffles me how Arians plays to a player's weaknesses. Conversely, as much as I hate Belichick, he plays to a player's strengths.
In other words, instead of having Heath block most of the game, maybe he should be out running patterns, which by the way, he does extremely well. Sure, this leaves one less person in to block, but it also forces an OLB to cover Heath...which means that there is one less defender who is rushing the passer.
Furthermore, since Heath would get beaten by the pass-rushing LB anyway, it is useless to have him stay behind to block. Conversely, having him go out, he would almost assuredly be open. Thus, he should be running patterns & catching balls 85% of the time.
Alas...

No kidding, it almost seems that way. Leaving in miller to block, running willie up the middle, playing 'power football' with this o-line that can't get a push on anybody, triple TE formations on running plays with 3 TE's that can't block, etc

Re: Miller
What I don't like with the 2-3 TE sets is the lack of a FB.
You need someone to open the hole or to block an DE or LB that shots a gap.
With some of the jail breaks at the goal line this should be a good passing formation.
