The BIG (missed) play that nobody is talking about
Steelers up 14-10. 4th and inches. Fake FB dive with the flick outside to Chris Johnson. Ike shows great discipline in staying home and has him dead to rights for a 5 yard loss. He misses the tackle and 21 yards later it's 14-17. Ike is always solid in run support but he just missed that. He has to make that tackle.

That was a huge play. When I saw Taylor there I thought we were set.
This does show the fine line in the NFL between a W or an L.
The 4th & 1
The penalty on the goal line
Bens fumble on the goal line.
Those three plays take the game from 24-14 them to 17-13 us late in the game. Not saying we hold onto win but I like our chances.
Also, you don't win many games in the NFL with 5 turnovers (or whatever we had).

Ike stinks in run support. He was out of position and when Johnson cut back, Taylor's feet went out from under him and he was on his way. I'd rather had BMac or even WGay with contain on that play.
It wasn't that long ago that BR7 ran that play, only to the right, pitching to FWP.

Ike may stink in run support, but he's usually a sound tackler. I thought he had Johnson dead to rights on that one. Maybe a different game if he makes that tackle. Maybe...

I thought Ike played a fairly well game, and he was also all around the field. That one single play sums up the game of football. It's a game of inches. Ike got bit by the turf with the threat of a dangerous one on one with a scat back. He got bit.

What i didnt understand was why a penalty wasnt called at the end of the run. He pulled out a prop and used it. Did they change the rule?

That penalty will be assessed by the absolute ass-whooping we give them in the playoffs. Thanks for the bulletin board material, Johnson.

I guess its "okay" when a single player cocks off, but if 2 or more of his teammates would of jumped in I think that would of been unsportsmanlike conduct, taunting.

That was NOT the big missed play. It was the 3rd and 20 preceding it. We give up a 19 1/2 yard pass play, setting up that 4th and inches. That drive should have ended in a FG, leaving the Steelers still up by a point.
The second and third big missed plays were Ben's "Earnest Byner" fumble and that missed FG. NFL kickers are over 90 percent from within 35 yards. Those three plays alone cost us at least 10 points.
In looking back, the difference in that game was the pass protection. If Ben had Tenn's pass protection, nobody would be complaining about him holding onto the football too long.......
Whenever Tom Brady loses, it's always someone else's fault.

I disagree.
Ike was in the vicinity, but a good back should be able to avoid 1 tackler in space and CJ is a good back. Take a look at it again, if you can find a video somewhere. I don't think Ike was that close to CJ.

I disagree...and agree...to a degree.
If Ike could have gotten a little closer to Chris Johnson, even if it only meant slowing Johnson for half a second, the play would have ended differently. True, Johnson probably would have gotten the first down, but if Johnson had been slowed for even a little bit, it would not have been a 21 yard scamper...because Troy would have run over and decked Johnson at about the 10 yard line.
