Hate me for it, but I really think the reason Ward showed up so well is those short passes that we threw out of the blue. Good, easy passes to catch by one of the best in the land.

God dammit, bruce, keep doin that short passin (to ward, that is) game. I'll never forget the 3rd and 1 where we just gave ward a quick hit. Good solution, now keep at it!

I think one of the reasons we have so many drops is because ben's passes have been 90% drop back and scan the field up until THIS GAME.

Change is good, especially when it involves Hines Ward.

though he was playing against Conference USA quality WRs. I thought this might have been a day that Ike Got the hard hat. Not that he was necessarily the most brutal DB on the field, but because he was everywhere, and in on some run stops. Which has been pretty rare this year, since Tomlin/LeBeau have used him as the shutdown CB.

Maybe I am just overvaluing his play. Got to love the Ward pick, though, especially with TimMANs on his heels for the award.

Definitely the best pick for hard hat this week.

It seems like not only Ben, but Hines also thrives in the no huddle situations. He's shown to be very talented over the years in improvisational plays especially.

the final TD in the super bowl comes to mind as well

Psycho Ward is most deserving of this honor. Well done, Mill. I only wish that Scott hadn't peeked up to see him coming on that QB run, because I would have loved to see Hines clean his clock...again.

As always the more potential winners of the award the better we played as a team.

Lets home the award is a tough decision all the way through SB XLIII

Up until this game? There were more drops this game than almost any other in the year. Nate dropped like 3 and Santonio dropped one that bounced right off his chest.

I agree with all the choices Still Mills has made....and i think that sack of Aaron Smith and all of his play qualifies him also...also Keryon Fox was a monster and had some good hands. Did y'all see that one hit he laid on the Rat-Birds...he was amazing!

I am up for this Titans game....and i think the men of the Steelers will be too...!!!

i'd have to agree with the ward pick. dude played his ass off and showed no fear to a ravens team that wants to take his head off

Why doesn't the water-boy get any love?

Psssssh.

I guess only Hines Ward makes sense in that game. He played his ass off... For the most part.

Man... Who's that hot-ass Asian trainer walkin' around on the BnG sideline?

I've got a hard-hat award for HER. I'm just sayin'.

There is a clip of Bart Scott ducking out of the way of Hines on this page: http://www.postgameheroes.com/?p=5057

they also found this from a Baltimore newspaper:
This was a pretty clean game for the most part between two rivals, but it wouldn’t have been a Ravens-Steelers game if Pittsburgh receiver Hines Ward didn’t take a cheap shot.
It occurred with one minute left in the third quarter. Roethlisberger was scrambling to his left, being chased by Scott, the Ravens’ outside linebacker, when Ward tried to peel back on Scott while Scott was on his knees.
Scott ducked the hit, but got in Ward’s face immediately. It was just another wimpy, cheap attempt by Ward.
