You know what REALLY matters??
We won the game. Nothing else matters...not even...
* Ben's shitty play for 57 minutes
* Holmes greasy fingers
* Arians absolutely RETARDED playcalling
* Nate trying to stick a fork in the football...
You know what matters Ratbirds fans? We won the game. And all that talk this week about Hines being dirty and having a bounty out for his head? He showed you in the last minute just how fucking tough he is...tougher then your D...so you know what? Go FUCK YOURSELVES.

Re: You know what REALLY matters??
I had absolutely no problem with the playcalling in this game, except when the same play was called after a penalty which happened on 2 separate occasions.
Re: You know what REALLY matters??
you had no problem with the playcalling today?? Are you fucking serious? We have the worst 3rd down conversion in the NFL. THAT is not a problem? Heath Miller is unstoppable. Plain and simple. Teams cannot cover the guy. He was invisible yesterday. 3 catches the entire game. How can you not have a problem with the playcalling?? It has sucked the entire year. Those moronic screen passes to Ward? Enough already...What about the fumble by Ben late in the game on third down? WHAT kind of call was that??
If you didn't have a problem with that playcalling then you are an idiot.

Are you saying that Scarians called for a fumble?
I thought Scarians did marginally better this week than he has in the past. He still sucks ass though.

Yeah, exactly. I'm not saying he called an amazing game, but there were great mix ins of SHORT PASSES. Mostly to hines ward.
Maybe Arians is finally realizing that for whatever reason you want to blame, when Ben drops back and has to throw a deep read pass, he's either sacked, or throws a tough to catch pass (And of course, always to the guy who has trouble with them, nate), or there's yet another flat out drop.
THATS why I like what I saw. Short passes to Ward. Well done, Bruce.
In my mind, he had his best performance since he's gotten here. Though it was mediocre, at best .
You know for a fact Ben didn't CHOOSE to throw those short passes. He likes to go for the big enchilada on most of his plays.
Disclaimer: I still want bruce gone asap, don't get me wrong
Re: You know what REALLY matters??
too bad Ben cannot HIT on the big enchilada...his shoulder is a fucking mess and he cannot let it fly..not his fault, he just has to deal with it...

What the hell were you smokin'? Bens shitty play? I thought Ben was on the money for most of the game, given the protection he had, setting his feet and delivering strikes. Yah, he had some ducks that sank on him, but that's what happens when you get hit 1,000 a year. I understand Arian's gets a ton of heat, and shit thrown at him at a week, to week basis. He is not at fault for the offensives disability to put the ball in the endzone against the Birdies.That had a lot to do with going up against the #2 defense in the league, and simply the Stillers not finishing drives that produced yardage. It's all about executing, and we did not do that at the time of actually a well drawn out game-plan for the week.
When push comes to shove, 7 and his offense gets the job done, and that is what CHAMPIONSHIP teams do. FIND WAYS TO WIN.... not only do they find it, they do it. Finding ways to win behind that defense is a true nightmare for the rest of the NFL.

Re: You know what REALLY matters??
I am not sure what you want Arians to do when Ben does not throw the ball to Miller. Miller goes out on pass patterns more than 3 times per game. Plus, Arians is having to deal with a crappy OL. Most OC struggle against good defenses when you have no running game. The OL is playing with reserves and low level draft choices. These problems happen when you don't invest in the OL.
Go look at most of the top OL in the league. Almost everyone has at least one first day draft choice on their OL. The Steelers have to spend at least one if not two of their first three draft choices on the OL. I would draft a right tackle and move Colon to Guard. I would also upgrade from Kemo. He is strictly average at LG.
This team has to invest in OL to protect their high priced QB. You never see the Colts allow Peyton Manning to enter a season without help in every area. The Steelers have to take a similar approach.

Re: You know what REALLY matters??
The last 3 minutes on offense were the best we played all game. You know why? Because Arians and Ben had a sense of urgency. Too bad it took 57 minutes to wake them the fuck up.
Listen, I love Ben and I know that he has to play behind a line that leaves much to be desired...although has been MUCH better the last 4 games. But, it is not their fault when he holds onto the ball too long. Why he doesn't get rid of the ball is beyond me. Yes, the line is at fault for the majority of sacks, but Ben has to take some heat too. I remember a chap named Marino who NEVER took a sack and he didn't have anywhere near the ability to run like Ben does...I know we don't want our QB to run, but he IS 6'5 and 245lbs...
I don't know if it's Arians playcalling or Ben's play at less then 100% but we have got to put up more then 12 or 13 points if we want to go deep in the playoffs...

Re: You know what REALLY matters??
If memory serves, BB has made some of his biggest plays after "holding the ball too long", shaking a would-be sacker and keeping his eyes downfield. I also vaguely remember another QB drafted the same year as Ben holding the ball forever, shaking off a sack against NE, and throwing a pretty insane pass to David Tyree. Granted, that was fourth down in the super bowl, but Ben seems to get it done every Sunday.

Re: You know what REALLY matters??
ben actually played his best game of the season in the first half, problem is his recievers decided to play thier worst. Steelers would have had 17 to 21 points in the first half if nate and holmes catch the perfect passes they were tossed.
