Nothing to actually worry about for 4 weeks.
Now we know for sure the Stillers will still be alive (and at home) in the 2nd round of the playoffs, in the middle of January. So there really is not anything to worry about for 4 weeks.
Of course, with wins the next 2 weeks, they can assure themselves that the AFC Championship game will also be in Pittsburgh, if they make it through their 1st playoff game (in the Divisional round). But that's not a matter of life and death. The season won't be on the line for almost a month.

I honestly don't care whether we play the AFC Championship game in TN or at Heinz. The Titans just don't scare me. I would, however, like to avoid playing Indy in the first round. But I still think we will beat them.

I hate to bust your bubble......but you'd damn well better respect the Titans..and every other frickin' team out there.
There have been many years where the "road to the SB" went through Pittsburgh...and we got drilled in the ass (often courtesy of the butt pirates up in NE).
This time of the year, I'm looking for every single advantage I can get.
I cannot stress this enough ---- your looking at a pathetic offense. And yes, they did FINALLY manage to score against the Ravens. But all of the convulsions they went through was pretty disgusting. Come playoff time, the shit they are getting away with now will not exist.
I want them to WIN more than anyone and I'm certainly not trying to destroy the satisfaction we get from beating Baltimore. But for crying out loud --- don't get the 6th spot ready anytime soon.

to hell with that, the first seed is in reach and we control our own destiny for that. not to mention we wanna go into the playoffs with momentum, getting lax now will be a death sentence for any team hoping to perform in the postseason

No shit, man!
I was gonna say, lj, have you no memory, dude?
Honestly, I'd rather we did to the Titans what we did to the Colts in 05. But, I'd give the Stillers 3 points favored over the titties for next week.

Can't we just celebrate that we clinched a bye week in the playoffs! sheeeeesh
I know better than anyone else the history of the 90's and 2000's Steelers playoffs with a high seed, it's not good!

I'm not saying the guys should go ahead and get fitted for rings before practice Wednesday.
I'm just saying, as a fan, I've been fretting every week about making the playoffs. Now I can relax, knowing that the Stillers will be playing in the 2nd round of the playoffs, almost a month from now.

Although that is a good point, I have but one thing to say (for now)
How many losses do the Steelers have outside of their own state?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but we only need to win next week to clinch the #1 spot. Furthermore, I agree that "home filed advantage" has not been that much of an advantage in recent years, but I'd still rather play at Heinz in January. IMHO.

The Stillers can't clinch the # 1 seed this coming weekend. The Titans can clinch the #1 spot this weekend with a victory over the Stillers. But even if Pissbird wins this weekend, they still need to close the deal the following weekend by doing at least as well as Tennessee.
But no matter what happens the next 2 weeks, the Stillers get a 1st round bye and a home game in the 2nd round.
