A couple of interesting things I noticed upon looking at this (over and over). First, it wasn't as clear to me in live time how open Witten was. It was 2nd and 8, and he sat down about 9 yards from the LOS with nobody within 3 yds of him. A better throw by Romo, and it's probably a first down. As it stands, we thankfully don't have to lament, once again, the perils of the prevent defense in a tied or close game, thanks to Romo. Secondly, Mill is always pointing out that Farrior (The WG of LBC) covers so poorly, and that he's a liability. Farrior is sitting (presumably in his assigned spot in the zone) in the middle, 5-10 yards from the nearest white shirt. Ironically, if he had moved to his left to get near Witten, Romo (even with Woodley in his face) probably would have seen him and looked elsewhere. Thus, maybe we can thank Farrior's deplorable coverage skills for Romo seeing his TE open, and throwing to Deshea. Either way, great video to watch over and over and over and over...

I've been waiting for people to point this out. Romo got spooked and pulled the trigger before he was ready. Last he saw of Woodley, he was rushing from the outside, he glances TO's (?) way and turns around and Woodly is coming up the middle and right in his face.

Just my 2 cents and another factor to consider in the pick...

I finally got around to watching the replay of the game last night. Romo clearly was favoring his just healed pinky finger when he chucked that pass. You can see him quickly recoil his right arm as he threw it up for grabs with Woodley's helmet closing in. What a puss!
