Titans fan here

Postby voltan » Thu Dec 11, 2008 12:13 pm

How's it going Stiller fans! I know you guys have Ratbirds on the brain :sushootem: but I thought I'd get an early start discussing next weeks game.

First off, much respect goes to your team, especially on defense. Harrison and Polamalu have been fun to watch this year!

However, it seems that a lot of Steeler fans (maybe just my opinion) are blowing off the Titans as just a team that lucked up with a soft schedule. Cowher or not, Fisher will have the team ready to play the Steelers. What I am really interested to see is your O-line against the Titans D-line and how Roethlisberger will handle the rush.

Looking forward to good discussion!

titans do have a soft schedule especially compared to ours. however they do win the games they should, so they're consistent. fisher is doing a good job of not falling in the trap games and keeping the team motivated

anyway i'll think about the titans next week, this upcoming game in baltimore is a huge game. if we win this game the one vs the titans won't matter. we'll get the #2 seed and most likely your titans will beat the texans making the #1 seed out of reach

Titans aren't even on my radar. I can see only to Sunday...after that, we'll discuss the Titans and their soft schedule. Come back on Monday.

Looks like you lost your star DT for the season.

and likely they lost the first seed handed to them by a pussyfoot schedule.

what happens when the titty twisters get stuffed by the STEELERS .....

oh i know....they lose two in a row....

then they play the colts last game and make it three titty titan losses to end the season.....

thatll be a REAL morale booster eh!!!

titty titans wont even make it to the AFC championship in pittsburgh.

they will be out long before then.

Damn shame about big Albert. Kerry Collins is coming down to earth at the wrong time.

Should be an interesting game, but if the Titans don't have Haynesworth they are fucked. Different defense without that monster plugging up the middle and wreaking havoc in the backfield.

I'll be there. Can't wait!

Hello Titan's fan,

I think the Titans have not been as battle tested as the Stillers, but that's not their fault....the Stiller's have had just such a brutal schedule. This will be a good test for both teams and of course either team could win.

I would put this as a pick'em game at TENN, or Stillers by 2 or 3 if it were played in Pitt... If Haynesworth is out... I'd bump the line a point or two...

Best of luck, except next week and at the AFC Champ game =)=)

Yeah UncleDick if Big Al is out for an extended time its definitely not good.

First off, congrats on the win against the birds. Controversial or not, the W stays with you.

I'm glad this game is at LP Field as the Stillers definitely have momentum for this one. The Titans constantly shot themselves in the foot yesterday (Colllins overthrowing wide open receivers, McCariens stone hands, etc.) The other factor is Vandenbosch may be out for this game as well. Dave Ball has stepped in and done a nice job in his absence.

Here's to hoping Big Ben has another off day! :D

have to say it's nice to be playing for the top two spots, knowing we both have a bye... but both teams have earned it for sure....... I'm glad we are not playing pansy games in the run to the playoffs (although we have CLE the last week)

So, Voltan, who was to blame for the big upset against the Texans? (EDIT: Just found out he already answered that question.)

But yeah, that is a shame about Haynesworth. That could make a big difference, since every once in a while, some of the very good DT's have been able to dominate the Stillers O.

And what's your prediction?

steelers run the table for the rest of the regular season. we have momentum on our side, and are getting healthy at the right time of the year. our team's already been through a lot of adversity and 'playoff intensity' games, and I feel they're going to be more battle ready than any other team in the afc come playoff time

Looks like the Giants and Titans peaked too soon.

Steelers, Colts, Panthers, Cowboys, Falcons seem to be the major contenders now.

Hey Voltan- What's with putting the ball in Kerry Collins hand when he's had a bad day already and you're well within range of a Rob Bironas FG to take the lead? True to form, KC overthrows an open receiver, and the game is essentially over. What gives? Was that the call you would have made? Just curious.

Isfry, I didn't mind Fisher going for it on the 4th and 3 as most Titans fan think he can be too conservative at times. I just felt he had better options with Johnson, Hall, Scaife on a shorter pattern. The Titans still had 3 timeouts and Fisher fully expected to get the ball back. Props to the Texans for killing that plan. However like you say, the WR (I believe Gage) was open. Collins connects we are having a different conversation in Nashville.

IllStill, happy to hear it is just an MCL sprain as it looked a lot worse. To say they will NEED Big Al in the playoffs is an understatement.

I suck at predictions but here goes

Gut Stillers 17 Titans 10

Heart Titans 13 Stillers 10 OT

Voltan-
Big ups on the positivity. I respect your fanmanship, and look forward to a good game Sunday. Odds are this isn't the last time we see eachother this season, so it should be a good test for both teams.

Steelers 24
Titans 9

fingers crossed...
