I like to imagine Dick LeBeau waking up on Monday morning, having his coffee and danish, and smiling in self-satisfaction after yet another dominating performance.

"Yep...he held another high powered offense to less than 300 yards, got five turnovers, and pretty much won that game by ourselves. Still on pace to lead the league in every category. Might have #1 and #2 in the voting for Defensive Player of the Year. Not bad for an old man, huh?"

Then he boots up his old Dell, reads Mill's analysis, and breaks down crying.

"He's right! I'm a fraud! A fraud!"

And then shoots himself.

Hey, at least he gave LeBeau a B. As you pointed out last week, he gave Cowher a C- for winning the Super Bowl.

I'm sure if the internet were around in the 70s, we would have been treated to something like: "despite being up by 17 points with 7 minutes to go in the game Noll inexplicably allowed the Cowboys back into the game by playing a weak-kneed, panty-waist defense the rest of the way--it has become readily apparent that this team will never win a fourth Super Bowl under such a bumbling, incompetent head coach." Oh, and of course, there would be several articles about how the refs screwed the Cowboys on that ridiculous pass interference call on Benny Barnes.

So, when Farrior hangs 'em up, who will be Mill's next whipping boy? Seems he always has one.

He has many valid points, but he undermines his credibility by acting as if certain players/coaches never do anything right, or if they do, it's because of pure "luck".

Considering how he struggles in playing the run, I think Timmons has a lot of years to look forward to of never doing anything right.

LOL - I love readin these, but yeah, he is a little hard on old Dick. On the other hand, Bruce Arians is a worthless turd, as stated. Good lord.

I thought Mill's analysis, for once, was spot on. Yes, we get it by now. He hates Farrior. For once he didn't spend half the article nitpicking about Farrior - Farrior's obvious coverage gaffe happened to be the defense's worst play all day, and Farrior was brutal on that play. Absolutely brutal.

What's that saying, "luck is the residue of design"? I'm not going to mess with Dick's results this year. There is that annoying pesky issue with the shotgun draw working well against us, but other than that, I am really happy.

Noticeably missing from his analysis was the effect of the wind, as all the points were practically scored in the same end zone, going with the wind. It had to have had an effect.

Mill's analysis was pretty good. The normal statements of his regarding LeBeau, Farrior, etc, I dismiss as his schtick. Take the good with the bad.

Only comment I have:

We’ll also never know why Arians called for running plays, with HANDOFFS, when the Stillers offense took over with 51 secs remaining in the game. Yardage meant nothing here. No 1st down was required, as Dallas had only 2 TOs. Yet Arians, the complete buffoon, insisted on handing the ball off – risking a fumble or a strip -- rather than having the QB simply kneel on the ball each play. Unbelievable. What a tool.

This "tool" seems to be aware of something that you are not Mill- it's that little thing called the play clock.

You know...the one that exceeded the amount of time left in the game when the Steelers took their third down knee?

Which would NOT have been the case had they taken three straight knees?

Which would have caused us to have to pooch punt/kick a FG/turn the ball over on downs with time left on the clock.

Where anything could have happened.

Wasn't the final Indy touchdown also Farrior's coverage too?

Yes.

As was the Moss near-TD last week.

For all his over-the-top "Gildonging" of Farrior, Mill is correct in pointing out that Farrior has not had a good season thus far.

Consider yesterday our gift for taking care of the Pats last year. (That was my 6th favorite Super Bowl of all time.)

I tended to agree with you when I first read Mill's comments here. On the other hand, Ben could have taken the snap, backed up a few steps, waited, and then taken a knee. That probably would have been sufficient to take off enough time to get the clock down to 41-43 seconds before third down when you take your last knee in the same manner (but it would have been close). I suppose it's all in risk assessment: is the risk of a Russell fumble greater or lesser than the risk of not getting the clock down to 40-43 before the last knee if you take all knees? To me it's a judgment call--I wouldn't crucify someone for deciding either way.

I think, all in all, Mill's analysis is great, altho a little over the top. That draw play shit was disgusting, and Farrior's tackle of Polamalu was unforgiveable. My biggest regret is that the user ID "Ihatearians" has already been taken. What a hump. I do think the time factor figured in to the runs at the end, but the rest of the game the play calling was putrid. How is it that Mill, me, and everybody but Arians sees that going to a no-huddle and throwing the ball around a bit to soften the DL and LB pressure would be effective, but he waits til the 4th goddamn quarter. This is a game we should have dominated in the 1st half if it wasn't for our anemic offense and poor play calling. As for the second half, Tony Choke-O gift wrapped it for us, as we had no right to win. I just hope we bring a better offense to Baltimore next week, or we're in for an asskicking. TO's still a crybaby.

And, once again, Lebeau was soooooooo lucky.
Yes, facing one of the best offenses in the game, with a slew of Pro
bowlers, the Steelers defense was LUCKY. Yes, again, they did not allow 300 yards of total offense and forced four turnovers, but that's all LUCK. Playing well enough to keep its team in the game despite no contributions from the offense through most ot the first three quarters, Leabeau was LUCKY.

Playing the toughest schedule in the last 30+ years, this defense currently is tops in pass defense, rush defense, overall defense and scoring defense. Yep, all LUCK.

Mill, you could save yourself some time in the future, just cut and paste your columns and have them prewritten for the final 3 games and the playoffs (maybe you already do that, we couldn't tell the difference). For variety, just place the homophobic insults at different points of each column. No one would ever know.

An earlier thread said Mill had lapsed into self parody. I couldn't agree more.

humorous posts by MrSteve (is this the infamous OregonSteve from our old boards?), BenStiller, and others.

For the imbeciles that somehow LIKED the idea of risking a HANDOFF and a plunge --

1. remember Joe Picarcik of Herm Edwards fame ?? Or Sidney Thorton vs. the Chiefs ?

2. A kneel, as 1 poster noted, does not have to be a lightning fast kneel-down. Ben could EASILY take a snap, scoot backwards, and then clutch onto the ball (like he does on most pass plays) ......and then fall down & essentially take a sack. That would have consumed just as much time. And yardage meant NOTHING.

3. Even if 2 seconds were left on the game clock on 4th down, THAT, TOO, could have been run off by BenRoth.

Had a fumble occurred on any of the Russell plunges, yunz would have run Arians out of town with pitchforks.

As for Steel Qu'eer,

An earlier thread said Mullolly had lapsed into self stupidity and homosexuality. I couldn't agree more.

Except Arians did what most normal coaches do in that situation.

So, even if you believe there are alternative ways of burning the 10 seconds (and I don't necessarily disagree, except I think you can trust your RB to hold onto the ball for 2 plunges), you're getting on Arians for doing what all NFL coaches do.
