Never any respect

Postby blackbrown&gold » Wed Dec 03, 2008 1:53 pm

This a.m. on espn radio they were making their picks for the weekend. Dallas was taken because they "are the better team" and because "the steelers caught alot of breaks last weekend vs. New England." Is it just me, or are the stillers perennially the forgotten team, particularly this year. All we could hear about last week was the polesmoking of the jets. Two weeks before that it was how the cowboys were in the tank. Now all of a sudden the cowboys are picked to come to pittsburgh and handle the stillers? Exactly one year ago all the media could do was call for Eli manning's head, now they have annointed him the fucking messiah, and the giants [on tirico's show yesterday] the greatest team in years. Sometimes I wonder how the fuck these analysts have a job. Do they mean anything they say, or do they say it to simply cause controversy.

i can agree that the stillers have had some problems this year, but to suggest the fucking cowgirls, with that fag romo at the helm, and gimpy barber are going to come into pittsburgh for the first time in 9 years and win is simply silly. I am always the perrenial pessimist, [probably so i feel better when we win], but this weekend, I am not buying it. I can't imagine the stillers would allow themselves to lose another game at heinz this year, they have to much self-respect. at least one would hope.

a) Let them pick who they're going to pick. Who cares? Steelers can use it as motivation if they wish.

b) You do realize the Steelers haven't beaten the Cowboys in Pittsburgh since 1988, don't you? And before that, it was the 14-3 win in 1979, when Staubach took the beating that ended his career.

I could care less if they give us respect, I want Ws not respect. However, saying they are the better team seems a bit much. That said, Jeems has a point, we always seem to screw it up against the Cowboys in PIT - of course the same thing could have been said last week vs the Pats.

Right on, Hi5. That was gonna be my comment. Sports bobbleheads can blah all they want (specially ESPN's and even the NFL Network's, who just drool all over the Patsies, Cowgirls and Dolts). if you want a good barometer of respect for a team, Vegas is the way to go, altough they are known to mess up from time to time.

By the way, I'm don't particularly like betting on Steelers games, but I've had such a good vibe the past couple of weeks (and made myself a bunch of dough, except for the Charger robbery)that I'm gonna lay the 3 points. We're gonna crush em by at least 10 points, and I will be there to witness it with pride and joy!!!!

Does that have any relevance at all? The last time any of the current players faced off in a Steelers vs Cowboys game, the Steelers won. It was in Dallas, but still a win.
