Don't tell me that some NFL officials are not on the take. This was one of the worst officiated games that i have ever seen. The pass interference call to set up the chargers only td was absolute horse shit. The received ran to the inside, the ball was thrown to the outside. This was clearly uncatchable and should have been overturned by one of the other officials on the field. And to take away an obvious defensive touchdown, because of a "phantom" illegal forward pass was fucking bull shit. Where, in that series of laterals did anyone see a forward lateral. A lot of people would have lost money had the Steelers covered the spread, interesting.

Check your replay of Tomlinson's TD. Fox is practically tackled out of the hole Tomlinson hits, but no holding call. Yet we got called for how many holds on key plays? It's often said refs can call holding on any play. Holding calls can easily sway a game.
Taking the TD off the board on the last play, how many $millions in $ did that swing the other direction?
NFL refs are still part-time. They know they control millions of $ yet they are part time.

I'm not one to hoot and hollar about the officiating to sound like a little bitch BUT

This was absolutely the biggest hose job (even in a win) I have ever seen from my years watching the National Football League. Yeah, you'll always have your games that one bad call here, one call that shouldn't of been called there.. but CHRIST ALL MIGHTY! They called holding, block in the backs, and personal fouls at CRUCIAL parts on the game on Crucial drives that put us in a hole. All were a bunch of horse shit! The worst game ever called in the history of football and they should be ashamed.

13 penalties to their one? Fuck that. Fuck them. What biased pieces of shit and they need to be called out and drug through cow turds.

Not only that on the PI call, but the WR ran right into Taylor, who had position on the play, as is his right.

I also think the throw was uncatchable, at least 10 yards overthrown and wide. That alone would nullify a penalty, unless it was called the 5-yard variety, which it wasn't.

Also, on SD's scoring drive, not the play the PI was called on but earlier in that drive. It was 3rd and 4 at the Pittsburgh 41. It was a 17 yard pass to Manumaleuna. They showed the replay of it, with Rivers in the shotgun, talking about how great his play was. What they weren't talking about was right in the middle of the screen, there is James Harrison's big ugly mug coming from the middle of the line, with someone CLEARLY holding onto his facemask! IT WAS RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SCREEN!!!! Harrison was raped all game. This was the biggest bullshit called game of the year. Maybe the refs were trying to make up for the game the took from SD earlier this year.

No, they wont, even if they did there's still the missed opportunity to score the point(s) after.

If you make enough fuss in other blogs and on the air about the integrity of the game, the league will listen.

It's not about fairness. No one cares about whether a team got screwed.

But football is a billion dollar business because it is the National Football Lottery.

And when you question the game's integrity, you hit them where they live.

I generally don't question whether the NFL is on the up-and-up....but what I saw in that game on Sunday made me at least wonder about the integrity of the refs.

I've seen two basketball games that smelled to high heaven (one I had a bet on at the Mirage in Vegas). The first had a guy from NC State who later admitted to shaving points. (I think his name was Shackleford) The second involved the Warriors and that crooked ref. (The team I bet on had a huge lead and some bizarre technical fouls and questionable calls got it down to under the point spread) In both cases, I have reason to believe both games were fixed so that the winning team did not cover the spread. In both cases, the suspicious characters were later proven guilty and admitted their guilt.

With the disparity in penalty calls, the lack of obvious calls against San Diego (yeah, I saw Harrison's face mask grabbed and yanked on that pass play, too), and the horrible call at the end, there's reason for the NFL's security officials to take a close look at the officials. And to sit several of them now, and perhaps fire them at the end of the year. The disparity in calls was so great and so glaring as to put the integrity of the League in question.

It is entirely possible what happened Sunday was innocent. But for me, it was reminiscent of Herr's Island on a hot August afternoon. It didn't pass the smell test.

NFL refs are still part-time. They know they control millions of $ yet they are part time.

What difference does it make if they are part time? Head refs make almost $200,000 a year in "part time" work. And it is hardly part time work. The NFL make these guys do offseason work and conditioning and they have to review tape during the week and in the offseason just like players do.

It's not like these guys don't do shit all week and just show up for 3 hours on Sunday for a minimum wage job. These guys work 40-50 hours a week and make more money than Joe the fucking Plumber.

The part time excuse doesn't hold water.
