I don't know about Parker's tolerance for pain.
But I think he probably wants to play through with the shoulder brace, as this might be a Superbowl season.

Good to see you posting Hi5.
I don't know about sitting him if by that you mean making him inactive. Our RBs keep getting dinged upp, so we'll need him active for depth.
I'd like to see FWP and Moore sharing time right now to get them both healthy and keept hem both in game shape.
doesn't look like it is going to happen with this injury though.

Steelers | W. Parker has a torn labrum
Sun, 9 Nov 2008 08:45:10 -0800
Adam Schefter, of NFL.com, reports Pittsburgh Steelers RB Willie Parker (shoulder) has been told he has a torn labrum in his shoulder that will require offseason surgery. Parker will not play this week, and there are questions regarding when his return will be. If he does play, he will have to wear a shoulder harness.
Re: Parker possibly done for season with torn labrum....
willie needs to run like fast willie and not jerome bettis jr. is it me or does it seem like willie is trying to be a power back? he doesn't have the frame for that kind of running and lasting an entire season.
Re: Parker possibly done for season with torn labrum....
I just saw on Espn during halftime that WIllie himself said it isnt torn.

So....they cut Dookie with at least some idea of this? Brilliant!

It's definitely a Superbowl season........but not for the Steelers if they can't get their offense and Ben back on track.

On Sirius Blitz today Tomlin said Parker had a momentary shoulder separation (there is a specific term for this I can't recall) in the Redskins game. No torn muscles.

I did not understand this move whatsoever...Parker goes down so we release one of our back up running backs!!! It might have been nice to have Dookie in there at the goal line instead of Mewelde, but then again would not have mattered with the way the Oline blocked
Re: Parker possibly done for season with torn labrum....
they probably realized that russell was better than dookie. already on kickoff returns (he can actually return em past the 20 yard line, WOW!) i like this kid already better than davenport. mewelde/russell i'm comfortable with, i don't think both get hurt in 1 game unless shit really hits the fan.
willie is possibly coming back next week, so his injury isn't a severe one. marvel smith also may return which is great news to me, starks is fucking sad

And what has the big rookie done ever for this team, the glass shoulder back goes down his very first game.

Super Bowl year? I hope so, but really? The way Ben and the O has been playing? Not to mention uninspired play at home last week? This team has issues...
We need Willie back if we hope to go all the way. Teams just don't respect our run game otherwise, even if Mo has done a nice job. I think it has been a factor in Ben's play too. Let's face it, he needs a strong running game in order to succeed.
Injuries have been such an issue lately. Every team deals with it, but it seems extreme for the Stillers this year. I wonder if Woodley played last week if we could have disrupted Manning more. If, if, if...
