Ben's power
McLovin thinks that Ben wield's too much power in the Steeler organization. Let's start with his closed door meeting with Tomlin last week where he came out and admitted he needed to play better the second half of the season. McLovin suspects Tomlin was going to in fact rest Ben for at least the Colts game and Ben talked him out of it. Take Tomlin's hiring in general. It was well documented that Ben did not care how he was handled by Cowher and Whis after his motorcycle accident. Ben all but said he could no longer play for Whis thus prompting the hire of Tomlin. Ben whined in the offseason about wanting a tall WR...BOOM Limas Sweed. $100 mil is a lot of cash for any player but that doesn't make him a stock holder in the team. Tomlin needs to stop trying so hard to be a players' coach and make strong moves. The strong move this week was to sit Ben and play Byron. The strong move in the off season is to fire Arians and replace him with somebody of his choosing not Ben's.
