Unreal -- Woodley fined
Unfucking-believable. Remember ther perfectly LEGAL sack by Woodley, in which he picked up the QB and threw him to the turf ? Fuking NFL fined him 10 grand for it. The whistle had NEVER blown; this was not a dead ball situation. And it is NOT against the rules.
FUCK THE NFL !! FUCK those MF-ers !! We're playing a brutal, dominating style of defense and those fuking cocksuckers are trying to chip away at our ferocity and tenacity. Fucking pisses me off.

I'm pretty pissed off about it, too, Still Mill. It's getting ridiculous. What a bunch of bullshit!

NFL refs have big problems and pray that it won't affect playoff games. They need more hands on instruction with a degree.
Also back on the system after a 3 week blockage. Anyone else experience this.

Steelers linebacker LaMarr Woodley will be out $10,000 for sacking Redskins quarterback Jason Campbell "in an intimidating manner."
Seriously "in an intimidating manner" wtf......They might as well use a 5 mississippi rule for rushing the QB. This is truly sad.

Re: Unreal -- Woodley fined
thats fucking BS. to even think that ravens player that hit ben well after the play in an 'intimidating manner' didn't get fined (an illegal hit also) or even penalized, then woodley gets fined is crazy

The NFL is going to start losing fans because of this ridiculous shit. Terrell Piece of SHit Suggs always hits Ben after the throw and he never gets a fine. BS! I am truly amazed with the NFL.
Re: Unreal -- Woodley fined
I agree Mill. This is total bullshit. It was a good play, a textbook sack of a QB. What should he have done, gently put him to the ground, then give him a little kiss? If he let up, he could have gotten away and completed a pass. When you have the QB, you have to put him down!!
Farrior, the dipshit, hit Campbell soup boy helmet to helmet (a boneheaded play, but still a questionable call in my book, no harm done there whatsoever, there was NO viscious intent there). And he got a 15 yard penalty. Did he get fined?
Goodell is a shithead. A hypocrite.
I just hope our defensive players will keep going for it and not hesitate for fear of a fine.
I only hope to see P.M. get dropped like that multiple times tomorrow.

sack #5 is the one woodley got fined on. what the hell? that wasn't even close to being a dirty play. if he let up any, campbell would have gotten away.

Re: Unreal -- Woodley fined
Sadly enough, I knew that one was going to be fine as soon as I saw it. The way he threw Campbell to the ground, I just knew Goodell would come down on it.
I initially liked Goodell when he was cracking down on Pacman Jones and Chris Henry, but he's taken his gung-ho mentality way too far to the point where he risks losing a piece of the hard-core fanbase. The irony is that the players are so confused as to how they're supposed to play, that they're completely ignoring the rules and just doing their own things anyways, and just accepting the fines as they come.
So, he's accomplishing nothing as far as the players are concerned, but alienating the very element that has made the sports #1 in this country. This guy reminds me of Bud Selig in a lot of ways. That's not a good thing.

Thanks. I was a huge fan of Tagliabue's. I'd give just about about anything to bring him back. He understood how important it was to balance of giving the fans what they wanted, while also accommodating the employees of the company (the company being the NFL and NFLPA, in this case). Goodell seems to be ignoring the very reasons why the NFL is popular.
His actions thus far scare the shit out of me...
Re: Unreal -- Woodley fined
Relax -- Justin Tuck got fined for a cleaner hit ($7,500), appealed and had the fine rescinded. I'm willing to bet if Woodley did the same, he might get the same treatment.
Goodell is a hot mess right now.

Re: Unreal -- Woodley fined
Why should he have to go and beg the NFL to change its ruling? I think some of those guys would have too much pride to appeal to the NFL to please not fine them thousands of dollars for playing the game of football.
It's almost gotten to the point where it's against the rules to tackle the quarterback. Maybe someday the offensive backfield will resemble a basketball play, with the defensive players just standing in front of the quarterback with their arms reaching up above their heads.

Re: Unreal -- Woodley fined
At some point, Goodell needs to just accept the fact that it's a dangerous occupation to work in and focus on making the sport safer in other ways. Maybe put more effort into working with equipment manufacturers to make the equipment safer, or something. I don't know, anything.
What he's doing now is almost the equivalent of seeing a construction company use girders made out of styrofoam because it's safer for the workers, completely ignoring the fact that it'll ruin the end product.
