Anyone else think Mewelde is better than Willie?

Postby El Nino » Mon Nov 03, 2008 7:24 pm

I'm probably gonna get some hate for this, but in my honest opinion, even though parker is the starter I think that moore is possibly the better out of the two.

From what I've seen so far, moore seems to have much better vision and hit the holes much more consistently than parker, and does well receiving out of the backfield and as an extra blocker if needed. Parker has more power, speed, and seems to have the most talent out of the two, but seems to have poor vision, and isn't as elusive as moore. Mewelde's also faced some decent run defenses, putting up good numbers against the jags (who we usually can never run on), and the giants. The guy is no joke.

Don't get me wrong, I like parker, but I think moore is better and should get a good amount of playing time despite not starting. Maybe use him in a similar way NE uses kevin faulk?

I wouldn't necessarily say better. He brings different skills to the position. I'll have to assume Parker can't catch very well since he's never been more than a checkdown outlet. With a good offensive line Parker is as dangerous as they come because of his speed. Seeing sa how our line sucks, it might be wise to find an alternative to pounding the ball into the middle of the line. I think Moore might be better for a more spread offense because of his skill set. I guess it depends on how you want to play with the cards you're dealt.

I like bot of them , while Moore is a better receiver and has shown that he can hit the holes and perform well, he hasn't done it over an entire season. FWP is still more explosive once through the first wave. We should feature both of them for the remainder of the year expecially since we can not seem to et passing game on track. By the way who is Miller? What is a TE?

Lest McLovin remind you that Fragile Willie has been INJURED. Last year he was leading the league in rushing before earning his monicker of Fragile Willie. If Fast Wille healthy he is far and away superior back to Moore. Minnesota thought so little of him they gave Chester Taylor a backup in his own right a big money deal from the Ravens then seeing that Taylor wasn't the answer they tabbed Adrian Peterson to be their franchise rb. In the words of the worst analyst in the history of ESPN Key Johnson "C'mon Guys!"

This debate makes me wonder why we drafted Mendenhal instead of an offensive lineman.

Moore has become a great asset to our offense, hopefully they keep using him as they did last night.

The fact that there were no O-Lineman worthy of a 1st round pick left when we picked and the fact that FWP had just broke his leg might have had a part in it besides the fact that Mendenhal was probably the best left on the board should account for that. It is over bitching won't change it. Look on the bright side next years draft looks about as good as this year in our chance of drafting a quality O-Lineman Seeing that we will be picking at around 25th or so at best.

You are correct that there weren't any linemen worthy where we were, but ...

1. RB was clearly not a need with Moore and Willie already on the roster
2. We have gotten nothing out of our #2 pick either
3. We could have packaged those picks to move up to an O-linemen that was worthy.

I agree, however, that April's draft should give usa good chance at a quality O-lineman.
Let's hope Colbert gets us that help.

Dude, he's stating his opinion. Don't be an asshat and insult the guy. This is why people don't post here anymore.

Parker is a WAY better pure running back, but a mediocre passing threat. He's got a pop coming through holes that Moore just doesn't approach. He's also looked much better at timing the holes this season (though no plays stood out to me yesterday). Moore is the classic 3rd down back IMO.

1. Agreed but I think they had to grab him seeing who was left.
2. I disagree, we got an 18 inch piece of bench that is kept warm and some of our vets have made a few bucks knocking the football out of his hands. And WTH as long as he is around you never run out of butter for tht lobster
3. I was hoping for that too, buuutttt didn't expect to see it.

Now if they don't do something next April I will be seriously worried about how they are going to keep 16 QBs' on the cut. ( 1 per week)
