What NFL Star Faded The Fastest?

Postby Chazz » Sun Oct 11, 2009 6:30 pm

What NFL Player that had one/a couple great years faded the fastest? I.E.-They looked like the next big thing one minute, and the next were gone from the game? My pick has to be WR/PR/KR Jermaine Lewis from Baltimore/Jacksonville. Everytime he got the ball on a kick/punt return, he looked like he can go the distance. Helped The Ravens win The 2000 SuperBowl, but did very little in the 3 years that followed before calling it a career after The 2004 NFL Season. What's your pick(s)? Discuss.

Kendrell bell D.R.O.Y. Hurt his ankle or whatever it was and came back mediocre at first, then promptly converted into a bum.

Merrill Hodge. His unwarranted arrogance and his pompous ass ways are too much to take. After he left the Burg, I don't know or understand why he thought he would be welcomed back here as a Stiller's commentator... He didn't do jack shit for the team.

Vince Young. Titans took him #3 over all against the head coaches will. Then they train him not to do everything that made him a top prospect in the first place. VY is a natural leader and one intense competitor. Tennessee needs someone like that more than ever right now. He is currently sitting on the bench doing nothing to develop, as well as rotting everything away that could have potentially made him elite.

It is also conceivable to say that despite winning R.O.Y. his star never reached its full potential. Houston arguably snuffed that out when they took Williams #1 in that draft.

Kyle Boller. I remember when the Ratbirds picked him, Mel Kiper just about popped in his pants.
Bruce Arians: Proudly carried the Honor of Short Bus All-Star 2007-2011. Good job, and glad you're gone Dumbfuck!!!!!

Merrill Hodge was a true football player. He'll always be welcomed back here.
