Dallas Signs Marion Barber to 7 year deal
ESPNews reports the Dallas Cowboys signed RB Marion Barber III to a seven-year deal, worth $45 million Tuesday, May 20.

they also signed newman to a long term deal...
this is good news..
I don't pay much attention to cap numbers to be honest( I should jerry screwed us in the late 90's with some real bad deals).. I have to take a closer look and see what type of hit Barbers contracts are but I would imagine they see Barber as a player who with his style of running they need to keep as a feature back but with limited carries hence the drafting of jones. getting 12 million gaureenteed is a good value for his style of running.
Newman on the other hand will see very penny of the 22.5 million.
i dont beleive either will finish out these long term contracts with dallas
i believe both are very good signing.. I felt both would get done before training camp
my real concern among other things with dallas is Roy Williams he could not cover me.

Barber is a good back. Runs with power and attitude. Of course, it goes without saying that he'll never see 7 more years. No teams keep backs around past their useful life -- unless that back's last name is Staley.

A lot of each of their contracts was guaranteed money.
Imagine Jerry Jones in an NFL without a Salary cap.
