Good Read Mill. A few observations, you have hit on a few of them slightly, however just really venting at this point regarding coaching 101, which this asshole doesn't recognize.
We have the ball on 3rd and short several occasions and Ben is heaving the ball downfield 75 yards. Just inexcusable given we are on the road, one of the loudest venues in sports against a team that is moving it on us at their leisure. I am not sure you noticed the Seahawks coming out running the ball in the first few series of the second half, however if they did, they win by 21 points easily.
The decision to kick the field goal with 3 plus minutes when we were on the 2 was the killer for me. Keep in mind if we fail, Seattle gets it on the 2 and a 3 and out has them punting from their own end zone. Our offense was moving the ball at will and we would have gotten the ball back with 2 minutes plus given Momlin doesn't fuck up the time outs....So there it is. This is what $7 Million dollars gets you, An NFL Head coach who has no idea of clock management, asinine in game-decision making and poor play calling, which he allows.
I have never seen a defensive secondary look so bad and so lost. The failure to play Boykin is mind boggling. The fact that this jaggoff HC was a secondary coach on 2 different teams says it all- "The Fish Stinks from the Head"
The over and under on no show yellow seats will be over 5,000 next week. Only god knows what it will be for their game against Denver....

-I'm past blaming Tomlin at this point. The Rooney's see what have been seeing the past 4-5 years and are apparently A-O.K. with the job he's done. Take a look a Denver; They fired John Fox after he lead them to 4 straight AFC West Titles and a Super Bowl berth. That wasn't acceptable to ownership and management because they have higher expectations of their team, which is a foreign concept to this one. Much like The Cowboys, they are just fine with admiring Super Bowl Trophies and living in the past.
-Speaking of which, you think Dolbert may want to, Idk DRAFT A FUCKING CORNER IN THE 1ST ROUND NOW?!? Nah, can't go wrong with another LB. Another stiff taking up space living off past reputation, which is why the secondary is full of cast-offs from other teams. Great scouting and talent eval there, Kev.
-Boswell needs to start drilling his kick-offs deeper. SEA got good FP on a few kick-off returns that never made it to the EZ or weren't deep at all. In today's NFL where they kickoff from the 35 yard line, there is no excuse for this.
-Jacoby Jones looks nothing like the J.J. I remember for The Ravens. Whereas he used to grab a punt or kick-off and head up the field, it looked everytime like he was going to score. Now, he looks tentative, meek, scared, and running at half speed. No kick-off return for a TD on this team since 2010, and it looks like that will continue on to 2016.

Nice wrap, Mill. Pretty fair grades. I think I've decided what the Stillers biggest problem is. They're just not that good. They are pretty good in a couple of areas, pretty bad in a couple of areas, and mostly average, hence their roughly .500 play over the last few years.
Someone (Palmer, I think?) made the analogy a while back that Tomlin is playing checkers while Bellicheck (and others) are playing chess. Yesterday was a perfect example. The Stillers completely dominated the first half in yards, TOP, first downs, and while only marginally ahead, they were ahead. Then there's the IDIOTIC fake FG which completely turned the tide, got the crowd back in it and allowed Seattle to get settled, and Seattle made adjustments thereafter. Neither Tomlin, Haley, nor Butler appeared able to adjust to what was happening on the field when what worked in the 1Q was no longer working. Despite all that, the Stillers managed to sneak into half time with a lead on the road and make a stop to start the second half, only to play two hand touch defense for the rest of the game and make Russell Wilson look like he was playing Madden.
Totally agree on Sherman's illegal contact. Bullshit. Totally agree on Mitchell and Blake. Wastes of space who can't tackle. Totally agree on Tomlin. A clueless checkers player among a field of chess players. While I have hope of squeaking a wild card berth, and I agree it will likely take 4 out of 5 to get it, I'm not sure this team is remotely as capable of a run as I may have deluded myself prior to yesterday. Hope I'm wrong.
At least the Cheats lost and Gronk-OW-ski got hurt...

Interesting concepts, Mill, but just as a reminder, this is the team that you and many, many other Steelers fans' wanted. You guys bashed and bashed Cowher like he was some sort of junior varsity coach, and couldn't wait for the offense to "open" up.
Well, at least Bill put us in a damn good position to get to the Super Bowl, almost every year. That's more than than this half-wit, token-hire, piece-of-shit Tomlin is doing. You guys turned running the football and playing great defense, which was the staple of Cowher's legacy, into evil.
So Mill, I tell you once again, be careful what you wish for....you and some of these other guys have gotten what you asked for. I would give my right arm for Cowher back now....hell, I never wanted the guy to leave.

Timmy,
Good to see yer still around.
But not so fast, with your fawning of Cowhard. The Mailman went 6-10 in his final season, mailing it in long before the season ever began. Then there were the miserable seasons of '98, and '99, and 2000. And the sorry, shoddy playoff losses to Tenn, KC, SD, and NE. So, yeah, few of us want Cowhard to make a return.
And while we advocated Cowhard's removal, we never said to get away from playing sound, solid defense. We scored 30 pts yesterday, with well over 500 yards of offense.....yet the defense was a sieve. That's Dumblin's fault. That doesn't make Cowhard any better than what he was .....a good motivator and poor tactician.

Chalk up another loss to Tomlin. All he had to do was not screw it up. Nobody knows how to clutch defeat from victory quite like Momlin.

Did you mean 8-8, Mill? That's what Cowher's team did in his final season in 2006. The 6-10 shit-fests was in 2003 as well as 1999.

Unfortunatley, the Pens aren't that much better coached. Nobody has shown he knows how to waste talent like Mike Johnston.
Re: Stillers-Seahawks Postgame Analysis and Grades
More favorable write up than expected. And, as usual love the frank assessments of everyone. Like to make a few myself. 1) Jacoby J is a turnover disaster waiting to happen. This team needs a deJonesing. Grade F. 2) Bryant did his best imitation of Slimas Weed dropping 4 balls, although the last one that was picked off he could not have been dropped since it hit him on the left shoulder. Grade F. 3) The 3 main problems with Dhead LeBeau's defenses were 1) Dhead LeBeau 2) the Butler 3) John Mitchell. Usually feel C Lake well prepared, not this time. Grade F
Against Raidas Dline got dominated. Seattle worst in the league O line also dominated and, coupled with a little better D, the Steelers were not able to outscore the Shehogs. Mr. Butler your F'ing D looked exactly like it did on the first 2 series of the F'ing season against Pats. Grade F-
I wish Tomlin was DC and Haley was HC....
PS the Steelers and Ben were intimidated by Seattle....very embarrassing. Ben got over it quickly not sure about others including Tomlin. THAT IS NOT STEELERS FOOTBALL!#$^%=÷$!

Re: Stillers-Seahawks Postgame Analysis and Grades
I want to post this here for the record as well, since the venom being spewed about Antwon Blake is universal across every Steelers fan site imaginable. I've said basically the same thing everywhere else, and everyone everywhere in Steeler Nation seems to be blissfully unaware of all the other holes in our defense besides Blake. Oh sure, this was probably Blake's worst game to date, with PFF doing nothing but talking about all his missed tackles, all the while never noticing that Blake may have had to attempt these tackles on a bad angle because of someone else's blown coverage. On one play in particular, I remember seeing Blake pointing at a Seahags WR before the play started, as if to say "No one is covering this guy, and someone needs to do that." The ball was thrown and completed to the man Blake was pointing at, and it looked like he had to run over from his actual assignment and make that tackle, which was a fair distance away. It's possible he was confused, and he was actually the one supposed to cover that guy, but you have to take into account all the blown coverages there were all day, at least according to what I saw. Over and over I saw a Seahag catching a ball in open space with no one near him, so there were coverage failures across the board as far as I'm concerned.
And so just for the record, when Boykin is put in to replace Blake, and there still appears to be opponents catching balls all over the field, over and over (against Cockrell, Mitchell, Golden, Allen, and Gay), how many of you assholes are going to put Boykin under the microscope and skewer him when he allows a catch, or misses a tackle, and then make him the scapegoat for an entire defense's failures? I'm guessing, all of you.

I am glad I wasn't the only one who saw the confusion in the secondary still trying to communicate as the Seahawks were in the down position. It reminded me of the NE Pussies game all over again. As far as Boykin is concerned, what has this guy done to NOT see the field? Even if he doesn't understand the defense (as rumored) he wouldn't look anymore lost as the current Keystone Cops secondary are. His insertion isn't going to fix the entire secondary, but for Christ's sake, let the fucking guy play!

I can't argue with you there. It probably won't be long before Tocchet takes over the team.

What makes it worse for us "assholes" is that the Steelers gave up a 5th round conditional pick for this guy only to never play him. Let's not pretend the current secondary is the Carolina Panther's and he just can't crack the roster. It's just another Tomlin move that makes you scratch your head. So anyway, we the knowledgeable "assholes" feel like Boykin should see the field.

So exactly what are you saying? That things are going so swimmingly in the secondary that they shouldn't at least TRY Boykin out?? If he doesn't do any better, so what?? What have you really lost?? It's not like he's replacing Revis out there.

Tomlin: Changes at CB to be considered (read the whole article if you can)
We just had a brief conversation this week and acknowledged those things are on the table,” said Tomlin. “We’ve yet to formulate any hard-core decisions in that regard, because those meetings occur later on today, but we acknowledge those guys (Blake and Cockrell) need to play better. Particularly, they need to tackle better. We also acknowledge those performances merit an opportunity to look at our options in that area, while at the same time giving those guys – particularly the two I mentioned (Blake and Cockrell) – an opportunity to rebound.
We’re going to look at Brandon Boykin, maybe, getting an opportunity to work within that mix,” said Tomlin. “We’re going to look at the utilization of William Gay, maybe to the outside. We’re going to turn over all those stones as we formulate a plan here this week.” And on and on and on and.....
OMG - all this mumbo jumbo from Tomlin about the secondary. Geez, just do something! He makes me tired just reading it. Hell, the Patriots just cut the punt returner for muffing one punt that led to a broncos score. I didn't hear any mumbling from Belichick. Just do it - OMG!

Just as I've maintained all along. Just great in the boardroom, but a pussy dumbass whimp when it comes to the action during the game on the field.

Well, let's see. It took him how many weeks last season to dress Bryant? I sure as hell want to see what Boykin has. I'm betting he has a lot of frustrating energy he is ready to unleash and prove his coach wrong. Also, I blame the scheme for much of the CB failures. Their pre-snap positioning so damn far off the LOS allows WR's to run to the clear or hit quick slants. Let these guys battle at the line of scrimmage for shit sakes! The only problem with that is our safety sucks ass.

He's also the same H.C. who thought Mike Prick could still play QB at a high level, so anybody that thinks he always knows best is fooling themselves. And that WR who he thought was better than Bryant and should've been playing ahead of him? Justin Brown, who isn't even in the league anymore, I believe.

My stepson is in fucking lock down across the street from another god damn shooting! I don't think he is in any danger from that distance but it really pisses me off that our society has created more wolves and sheep than sheepdogs can handle. Sorry, just trying to vent to anyone that will listen.
