Hines Ward Released
Steelers released WR Hines Ward the other day. Really not surprised at this one, as I knew it was coming. Not much to say except thanks for 14 great seasons here, and helping the team to 2 Super Bowl Championships and 3 AFC Titles. Should also be in The Pro Football Hall Of Fame someday as well.

Re: Hines Ward Released
I know it was inevitable, but I still hoped they would figure out a way to keep him around for one more year. I think his veteran presence, even if mostly in the locker room, was a big reason why AB and Wally have developed so quickly. There will never be another #86. It will be bittersweet watching him in civilian clothes on the sideline next February in New Orleans as the Stillers win a 7th...
Re: Hines Ward Released
Seems to me that these guys' agents arent doing them any favors. Who is gonna really pick up Hines or Smith or Farrior? Only a desperate team. Do they really need one more year of salary with a crappy organization? What they're really likely to get is only hurt. I understand these guys have reached the pinnacle of an elite profession and it's gotta be hard to call it quits; that's why somebody has to tell them to pack it in.
Who really wants to see Hines in another uniform, it will be as pathetic as Franco trying to make a go of it with the Chargers. Not a good way to go out. We should be throwing a big party for Hines, Farrior, Smith, and Hampton instead.
