Steelers Sign QB Troy Smith
The Steelers signed former 2006 Heisman winner QB Troy Smith to a reserves/futures contract Friday. With Leftwich and Batch both becoming U.F.A.'s this off-season, it looks like Smith was brought in for depth at the position. He was with The Ravens from 2007-2009, and The 49ers in 2010. What little I've seen of him over the years he looked decent, but nothing spectacular. Which I guess is acceptable if he's going to be backing up Big Ben. Thoughts?

I thought a friend of mine was joking about this when he text it to me yesterday... I like this signing. I believe Leftwich, and Dixon will be gone... I think they keep Batch 1 more year at a minimal salary.
Bruce Arians: Proudly carried the Honor of Short Bus All-Star 2007-2011. Good job, and glad you're gone Dumbfuck!!!!!

I like the signing as well. Low risk/high rewards type deal. For being mostly a backup for his career, he hasn't put up too bad of numbers; He has played in 20 games, starting 8 of them. 8 TD passes, 5 INTs, 3 rushing TDs, and a passer rating just under 79.

I like this pick up. This will help the salary cap problems. We obviously still have other monitary issues to deal with, but this will help free up a few million.
