Devil's advocate -
SF +3.5 - This line looks crooked. The 49ers were the league's best team against the spread this season, and now oddsmakers are baiting us to lay them 3.5 points. The Saints are good on offense, but the Niners have the NFC's best defense. San Francisco is likely to control the pace of this game. -3.5pts seems like a perfect sucker line for a big public favorite.
NE -13.5 - 13.5 points is a lot to be giving a playoff team. That is what we are supposed to think. What happens though when the Broncos get behind, and their -12 turnover margin surfaces? Expect Tom Brady to hang 45+ if possible. Denver gave a good account last week vs. the Stillers utilizing big plays and ball security. The Patriots have lost their last two home playoff games. Not this week. New England is a l-o-c-k to advance.
Balt - 7.5 - This is just what the Ravens want. A good running team with not much of a quarterback coming in to their yard for the playoffs. This contest is a lay up for Baltimore. Houston will have its running game shut down, and bad things will happen when the Texans are then forced to pass.
GB - 7.5 - Green Bay is conscious that Eli Manning saves his best for the 4th quarter, so the Packers will pile on early and not let this game be close late.
