Great Explanation of What Went Wrong in OT..............
The play was actually the perfect call, but the execution was putrid....... It was designed to have Ike jam his receiver at the line, with a blitz (maybe the first time in the game, possibly in attempt to surprise Tebow), and then Mundy to cut off the route to the "hot" receiver. Tebow was actually baited to throw to that "hot" receiver from the blitz, but the receiver got off the block untouched at the line, hence Mundy ended up out of position to make a play, and Ike couldn't catch up after the fact.
The key to that play was Ike whiffing on jamming the receiver at the line in an all out blitz, enabling the big play to occur.

Whenever Tom Brady loses, it's always someone else's fault.

I won't waste my time reading whatever link you provided, but your explanation is sheer gibberish and hogwash.
On the first play of OT, Tebow had no pressure in his face, and then calmly hit a WIDE OPEN Thomas on a short post, With NOBODY back at safety, Thomas ran 80 yards for the game-winning TD.
When the ball was snapped, there were 11 (ELEVEN) defenders within 4 yards of the LOS. Why ? It’s not like McGahee was tearing it up. He’d gained 61 yards on 19 rushes, about half of what Redman had gained with 2 less carries. LeBeau was a complete fuking ignoramus for sticking EVERY defender up at the LOS on a 1st down play from the opposing 20 yard line. And a blitz ?? Gee, that's some BLITZ --- as there was no defender who could have touched TeBlow with a 12-foot pole. All in alll, a stupidfuk scheme by a complete stupidfuk.
And it should have never gotten into OT, had Dick LeBeau not managed to do what no coach on the planet had done -- make Timmy Teblow look like a competent QB. Fuk DickHead LeBeau.

I saw the replay. Ike didn't whiff the receiver, he didn't even attempt to jam the receiver. The end result was the same.
If Lebeau made a monumental mistake, it was grossly overestimating his corners.... That strategy may have worked with the Chiefs or Bills corners, but it was suicide with our corners.

I agree with Mill here. I think this was sheer incompetence by Steeler's defensive coaching staff.
THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NO intent or design to protect the pass.
This from the yahoo box-score. Denver had 18 first downs (not sure if the OT first down is counted or not; also, PIT must have commited one or more penalties on Denver 1st down attempts, and I don't know what happened there). Here is from play-by-play:
1Q
1st-10, DEN20 11:14 T. Tebow rushed to the right for 1 yard gain
1st-10, DEN11 7:37 W. McGahee rushed to the right for 2 yard loss
1st-10, DEN20 0:23 W. McGahee rushed to the left for 2 yard loss
2Q
1st-10, DEN27 12:54 W. McGahee rushed up the middle for 3 yard gain
1st-9, PIT9 9:07 W. McGahee rushed to the left for 1 yard gain
1st-10, DEN31 5:09 W. McGahee rushed to the right for 4 yard gain
1st-10, PIT13 2:00 W. McGahee rushed to the right for 3 yard gain
3Q
1st-10, DEN20 15:00 W. McGahee rushed up the middle for 5 yard gain
1st-10, DEN40 13:57 L. Ball rushed to the left for 2 yard gain
1st-10, PIT45 12:46 W. McGahee rushed up the middle for 2 yard gain
1st-10, DEN20 4:29 W. McGahee rushed to the right for 2 yard gain
1st-10, PIT35 2:23 T. Tebow incomplete pass to the right
1st-10, PIT24 1:35 W. McGahee rushed to the right for no gain
4Q
1st-10, PIT13 15:00 T. Tebow rushed to the right for 3 yard gain
1st-10, DEN20 9:59 T. Tebow rushed to the left for 10 yard gain
1st-10, DEN48 7:35 W. McGahee rushed to the right for 8 yard gain. W. McGahee fumbled. L. Woodley recovered fumble
1st-10, DEN15 3:42 W. McGahee rushed up the middle for 1 yard gain
1st-10, DEN33 2:29 W. McGahee rushed to the right for 2 yard gain
Out of 18 1st down plays, Denver tried to run the ball all but once.
So the "brilliant" Stililer coaching team was convinced that it is going to be a running play.
Statistically, Denver is not rushing very well (131 Yards on 34 attempts, or 3.85 per).
On the other hand, Denver is passing at 15 yards per attempt.
So only a fool would fall into this trap, getting out-pokered by the opponent
at exactly the wrong time.

Of course, you don't need one play to think that Stillers def staff was totally incompetent in that game.
Tim Tibow Statistics from yahoo (29th place):
Name Team G QBRat Comp Att Pct Yds Y/G Y/A TD Int Rush Yds Y/G Avg TD Sack YdsL Fum FumL
Tim Tebow DEN 14 72.9 126 271 46.5 1729 123.5 6.4 12 6 122 660 47.1 5.4 6 33 225 13 6
From football outsiders (41st place)
Player Team DYAR Rk YAR Rk DVOA Rk VOA Passes Yards EYds TD FK FL INT C%
T.Tebow DEN -137 39 -192 41 -18.3% 37 -21.2% 303 1,570 1,353 12 2 3 7 46.8%
DYAR is defence-adjusted yards per replacement. DVOA is defence-adjusted value over average.
An average QB would have about 0 in each category, and the 16th quarterback is positive in both respects.
So T.Tebow is significantly below avg QB, and if you believe the numbers, he is NET NEGATIVE contribution to the team.
Now, look at the one-game DVOA from that game:
DEN Off: +40%, Def: -1%, SpecTms: +6%, TOT: +40%,
PIT Off: +5%,, Def: 42%, SepcTms: +6%. TOT: -30%.
Negative is better for defence. TOT = Off - DEF + SpecTms.
So PIT defence got DESTROYED by DEN offence.
