Reflection
I despise Aaron Rodgers.
Can someone explain to met the 300 bubble screen calls called today.
The Steelers simply did not play well. In fact, I'm surprised the game was as close.
After all, BR7 had the ball for the last drive of the game. What more could you ask for? A TD, and we are celebrating. But there was to be no replay of the Arizona game. No.....he was half lit or something. I don't know what was wrong with him....but alot of this loss goes to BR7.
Get off Mendy's ass. He fumbled. It sucked. But it did not kill us. What did kill us is that (a) we did not get any pressure on the buck tooth bitch named Mr. Fudge Packing Rodgers....and (b) we did not get any turnovers.
Harrison, Woodley, Troy.....exceedingly quiet all evening. I half expect dipshits like Gay to get smoked once in a while...but not our stars.
Also, the penalties....they simply played like this was some warm up game to the real Super Bowl.
I'm simply disappointed all the way around.

I can't stand Rodgers either, but his passing was much more precise than Ben's. I agree that they didn't seem sharp, especially on offense. Ben and his receivers were not on the same page several times and certainly not on the last possession where they looked as if they didn't know what routes to run. (BTW, Health Miller was open on the flare on both 3rd and 4th downs; would have converted the first down.)
On defense, you're right, no big plays. If Woodley would have put the hammer down, he could have had 3-4 sacks and made a huge difference; that right tackle and TE were beatable all night. Troy was limping around and obviously not full strength; but it's the last game of the season so got to push through. On third and ten with about 4.30 left in the game the defense had a chance to come up with a big play, but a perfectly thrown pass just missed Taylor's reach. And Ben didn't have enough of those precise passes in the end.
Thought Mendenhall had a hell of a game. The fumble was a good hit, but also on him. His performance goal for next year is to learn how to keep the ball high and tight and other arm to protect the ball when going into such a collision as that one.
The Steelers played well a times, and almost came back despite 3 turnovers. Damn shame.

Re: Reflection
Roethelisburger sucked tonight when he had to play better than this because you knew Mill was right that the Steelers were going to get carved up on defense. Mill is probably too hard on LeBeau because what can he do when his fucking personnel cannot fucking cover Betty White? That was about as poor one on one coverage as you are going to find after highschool. Had Green Bay receivers not dropped a ton of key balls, that score would have been worse. My goat fuck of the games are in the secondary to include McFadden, Gay, Troy and sometimes Ike though he was the one guy who could sort of cover sometimes. Oh Dick did throw some dumbfuck blitzes in with Troy. Troy gets swallowed up now--he isn't what he once was.
And how about that play calling? Ok Big Dumb Fuck couldn't throw hit the ocean tonight but Jesus Christ, the Fudge Packers were losing DBs left and right. Why not spread it out and throw it instead of trying the same running play over and over? Mathews knew where it was going when he stripped Memdy.
So my goat fucks of the game are the Secondary in total, Roethelisburger who has now fucking sucked up the stadium in TWO superbowls and Arians. Might as well throw Tomlin in there too as he is ultimately responsible for this clusterfuck.

Re: Reflection
I'll just post the comment I put on the "Favre who?" article page at nfl.com (http://www.nfl.com/superbowl/story/0900 ... _headlines), it's pretty much how I feel:
I bet all the "experts" are going to go all ape-dung about how they all predicted at the beginning of the season that the Pack would win XLV......well folks.....that would make them the luckiest prognosticators of all time. From a team that barely made the playoffs, to a team that was nearly eliminated at the hands of the Eagles......due to God intervening.....this officially makes the '10 Packers the team that has done the absolute least to earn a Lombardi. Congrats! Now, this is in no way an excuse for the absolutely puke inducing performance that the Steelers gave tonight.......they have too much talent to excuse this. I'm very proud that they never quit playing, and gave themselves a very good chance to win this game, even after all the mistakes. My main problem is that, somehow, the Steelers have managed to prove idiots correct. All hail the idiots! Long live stupidity!
I still feel same an hour later, and I'm slowly starting to feel the same way about the whole '10 season in general.....minus all the great Steeler plays, of course. I'll even go so far as to say I'm less pissed about losing to the Cowboys in '96, than this one. At least I thought the Cowboys were good......I never felt that way about the Pack. I think I've only ever been more pissed about the Patriots winning.

Re: Reflection
My thoughts........
- Where was 43? He played center field 95% of the night and when the ball was thrown down the middle of the field he looked shocked and way late reacting. He should've killed Jennings and Nelson a couple times but was 2 seconds late. Either his injury has turned him into a 4.7 (40) safety or LeBeau had the worst game plan in history.
- Why was 92 dropping into coverage so damn much? Hell he played zone half the game. 92 rushes the QB.........let him do it, LeBeau!!!!!!!
- The IDIOT blitz on 3rd and 10 where Nelson takes it to the 3 yrd line............what the hell are you calling that for Dick? McFadden and Gay are your blitzers????? 20 hasn't blitzed all year and performed like it............then 43 acts like he didn't even know 20 & 22 where blitzing. 43 hasn't played so bad since jr high.
- Kemo has GOT TO BE CUT...........he sucks!!!!!!! LeGursky looked all-pro playing next to his horrible ass. He gets pushed back on the interception like a girl and then gets the late hit penalty on Raji. He is stupid and plays like shit............has all year.
- K. Fox should be cut...........NO ONE that stupid can play on my team.........last kick return of the game and you get in a shoving match........and give the TEAM bad field position. That sob isn't even allowed on the plane back to Pgh.
- Hello Bruce..........the whole fucking stadium knew you were running right after you called the same exact play 15 times!!!!!!!!! How did that tightend block for you on that play??? Fullbacks have a purpose you dumbass. Crazy idea, Bruce, line-up like you are going to run right and play action into a pass......crazy idea I know.
- Since when did Wallace become a possesion receiver??? Ward and Miller and Brown were left looking for the ball all night. Wallace is a deep threat.......not a over the middle guy. It seemed the off. game plan was to throw to Wallace 25 times.......did Brown even have a pass thrown his way???
It just seemed Bruce and Dick over thought the game plans. Yes, 7 had a below avg nite but they still had a chance to win and were in my eyes the better team.

Re: Reflection
I wish somebody would take that silly toy replica pro wrestling belt that Rodgers carries around and shatters it over his fucking head. Arrogant prick mother fucker...
Re: Reflection
I think there is a lot to like about Rogers and the Packers. That team lost a lot of good players and still won the SB. Can you imagine if it was the Cowboys who pulled something like that off? It would be the friggin' 2nd coming of Christ for the media. Thank god it's a bunch of hard working, true football fans who get to celebrate and not a bunch of preening pricks like you'd have from many other teams.
Rogers had over 100 yards of passes dropped, by my count. Think how bad it would have been had those passes been caught. We got smoked.
Look, we lost 5 games this season. Two were defenseive struggles against the Ravens and the Jets, and we were able to beat both of those teams later in the season when it mattered, both defensive struggles again. Then we got roasted by teams with highly accurate pocket passers - Brees, Brady, and Rodgers. We just don't have the personnel, in my opinion, to stop top QB's. Maybe it's Dick, maybe it's personnel, maybe its both. I know Arizona was in no mind to keep McFadden after a year.
To my mind, the play calling was wanting. The int on the deep pass where Ben's arm got hit - we were running on the Packers like shit through a goose, and he calls a bomb from the 7 yard line? WTF? No Miller? No Randle-El gadget play? No screens? And how many times do you run that quick out for 2 f'n yards before you give up on it? How many times is Hines open in the middle, yet you keep throwing bombs to Wally? Stupid.
But the main reason I stay with this site, Mill called it perfectly, exactly what played out. Unfortunately.
