Re: New Article: Chowdheads Panic Over Big Ben in the Bowl
I've noticed that, as a whole, G.B. fans are much classier than Pats fans. Every group has their knuckleheads, but generally speaking that has been the case. The Superbowl could not be represented by 2 better organizations. Sit back Cheatriot fans and enjoy some real football next sunday.
Re: New Article: Chowdheads Panic Over Big Ben in the Bowl
Spoken like a true dickhead Cheatriots fan... The New England fans are the biggest assholes when they win it all, or they rival Baltimore fans, or Cleveland fans in crying when they lose. I like how he compares Brady to Ben... Sure the comparison will always lead to "Brady's the better pure passer", but when Brady gets hit, he folds like an accordion... Ben takes the hits, and keeps playing. So what that Brady had better numbers against the Jets in the head to head comparison... Who's still playing, and who's not???
I'm glad the Super Bowl's being represented by 2 high class organizations, and fanbases.

Re: New Article: Chowdheads Panic Over Big Ben in the Bowl
I'm not going to say there's definitely a connection... However, the fact of the matter is that Tom Brady has not won a post-SpyGate Super Bowl. That's got to bother him and a lot of New England's fans.

I'm hoping Ben has such a great game that he can not be denied the MVP.

Wait Gerry, I thought the Patriots colors were Red and Blue, not GREEN.

As a transplant to New England, I posted earlier about all the fun I've been having with Pats fans the last week. Last couple of days have been great - "Hey guys, you psyched for the Pro Bowl? So many Patriots on the AFC squad, and the coach too! You must be proud! It won't be any fun for me though, no Steelers will be playing." They have no retort.
Funny thing, they weren't so obnoxious until the '07 season. They were so set on having it proven that spygate meant nothing, but it just keeps coming back to haunt them. It's dawning on them that, if the Steelers win this one, they will have the same number of SB victories in the same decade - but without any taint of cheating.
With some fairness to Brady, he did not fold quite so easily before the early '08 injury. In fact the Pats could count on him rushing for a big first down in important games. He's no spring chicken any more and he can't run like he used to, even if the way he used to wasn't much.
The other thing about this area, it is not a football area. It's a hockey town. My granny from the 'burgh knew more about football than the typical Pats fan. I give credit to the organization for reviving interest in the game in the area. That doesn't mean it will ever approach what it's like in Western PA. To a certain extent, us crowing about beating the Pats is like a heavyweight banging on his chest after taking down a welterweight.
