A Blessing in Disguise????
I know it's only 1 game, but I liked what I saw today from Jason Worilds. He looks like a prototypical Stiller linebacker. He made a nice hustle play on the last play of the game to, running Henne down from behind. Because, I am sick and tired of seeing Woodley run head on right into the offensive lineman and apply no pressure whatsoever. I am with Stillmill on this one, this guy has one move and one move only, the bull rush. If Worilds pans out, Woodley's days as a Steeler will be over. The guy is becoming worthless.

I concur. In general I don't think the Steelers use their backups enough. It's a long season and starters are gonna get hurt. They also get comfortable and don't play as hard when they don't feel a threat from that hungry guy wanting some playing time.

it's funny that 'jason' woodley is getting replaced by a guy named jason
but anyway im not writing off woodley yet, he's money when it comes to run support. last season he did lead the nfl in tackles for negative yardage, so we can't judge his performance off sacks alone

At this stage, they all have potential.
Woodley seems to heavy to me. I'm not sure why, but he's not playing -- it would seem -- at the level he was a few years ago.
Remember, Heuy Richardson looked good on a play or two I'm sure (I just can't remember any right now )!

Re: A Blessing in Disguise????
I like the potential Worilds showed, and I hope that he can step up and prove why we drafted him in the 2nd round. However, there are several things that worry me from the brief play time he got on Sunday. First, he seemed to always use the wide looping rush, which missed the QB, but caused quick pressure. Sadly, this reminded me of a young GilDong. I really hope that he does not turn into a 1 trick pony. Miami immediately recognized this and started running the ball right at him, which gained some nice chunks of yards. At that point, he was removed while Timmons moved outside & Foote took over the middle. This begs the question, can he play the run, or is he only a pass rush specialist?
Again, I was very encouraged by his effort, but I need to see more before I am totally sold. Here's hoping that I will need to eat my words in the coming weeks
