Now What: Batch or Leftwich

Postby SteelThatDon'tRust » Sun Sep 26, 2010 9:51 pm

Let me say what everyone is surely thinking: congrats Charlie, we all wanted to see you play this well. :surockin: Batch is such a total stand up guy who has been with the team so long, it is just great to see him shine like that, even with the two picks. But now with the Ravens coming up and Leftwich probably ready to go, who do you start and why?

batch, it's a no brainer. he had a full week of practice with the 1st teamers, and a successful outing. he's still healthy, who not start him?

From James Walker's AFC North blog on espn:
"Batch has always played well in short stints in Pittsburgh, which begs the question: Why didn't he get a chance to compete in the first place?

Tomlin, with his team sitting at 3-0, said now isn't the time to second-guess.

'I don't get do-overs; I don't live in that world," Tomlin said bluntly. "I will let you guys (the media) talk about that.'

When it comes to Batch, Tomlin added that 'good things usually happen to those kind of people.' Batch did things the Steeler way: He worked hard, never complained, and was ready when it was time to step up."

Absolutely the best quote regarding the game!!! Tomlin admitted that he, more or less, made a mistake. He won't make that mistake again. Batch will get the starting nod against the Rat-Birds.

The REAL question in 2 more weeks... who gets cut when BR7 returns, Batch, Leftwich, or Dixon???

I can tell you it will not be Batch! I'd say it's a coin flip after that.

It may have to be dixon just because of injury - or we keep batch/lefty around until week 8 then make the decision. I am obviously non-committal.

When Ben comes back, Lefty will be gone. Batch will be #2 and Dixon will be #3. Until then, I can't wait to see Batch light up the SitBird's defense and Mendy getting another 100 yard game.

No contest now. Dixon is on IR. Bye Bye Byron next year. I really can't see Coach Tomlin cutting Charlie now. I can however see him treying to recruit Charlie as the QB coach. If that happens and Byron accepts to be the #3 that will happen
