Steeler F.O attempting time travel?? Backwards???
I dunno. I can't come up with any thing more logical. First they give Fat Casey, who's at the end of his road, a Three year deal to hang around. Are they thinking, maybe, as he gets older he'll play like he did three years ago??? Ya' know, sort of a reverse ageing thing.
Then Randal El comes back. WTF??? Another ex-Steeler at the end of his days. Maybe they see the same Randal El that threw that pass in the SB?? I dunno. All I know is it's several years later and he ain't the same Randal El that threw that pass. No one gets younger, but maybe they have a secret nobody else knows about.
Now the PG states that it's likely the FO will resign Larry Slow'a Foote. HUH???? PLEEEEEEZE explain that one to me. This ass-wipe was never that great to begin with and now they want him BACK???
I just have one question. WHERE'S JEROME????? C'mon! They can't keep us in the dark forever! It's clear they are trying to rebuild the team from SBXL. I'm STOKED Baby! If ya' can't get to the Super Bowl by winning it out right, just reassemble the players that were there before and re-live the past!!
Brilliant!!! BRILLIANT!!!

roster depth. and I think randle el was a good signing, the dude is 30 and hasn't had any major injuries so he's got a few good years left.
he's got a familiarity working with ben and the steelers offense, and he'd be dangerous as hell in a 3 or 4 wide scenario

First of all, I think you better clarify the "familiarity working with Ben" bit. On the field or "off"?
I, too, agree though. I always liked El, not his complaining to refs for every missed catch as pass-interference or his after catch antics, BUT as a 3rd or 4th guy, yes he SHOULD be dangerous.
YOU KNOW THIS, I KNOW THIS AND HALF OF AMERICA KNOWS THIS AS WELL AS THE FREAKIN' BALKAN ISLANDS, it's our idiot OC is the one who doesn't know this and he won't get any help from his HC on this either.

I guess it was Smizik on his blog who said something like the signings would be okay if the Steelers weren't in need of serious rebuilding after a bad season. He probably has a point and add to it that they are aging in a lot of places and these free agent signings did nothing to make them younger. And is Foote going to provide depth or play instead of Timmons? Timmons makes big plays but then disappears. Or is Foote going to play instead of Farrior? He certainly couldn't do any worse on 3rd and long, facing a running back coming out of the backfield. It could be that Colbert is losing it as GM--it happens to the best of them like Craig Patrick, although Patrick had to try to keep the Penguins competitive in a hopeless financial situation. Also you might add that Colbert could be facing the loss of the franchise qb-- When Big Ben is at his best, he is a deodorant that can cover up a lot of smelly personnel moves.
