With the recent issues with BR lately, what are the chances we would draft a QB if a good one fell to us? Not saying we should....just wondering what anyone thought about this. I don't know if any QB's in the draft will be capable of starting in their first year either - those types are so rare, but you never know. You need a good QB to operate successfully and if BR gets in trouble we could be in for another shitty year. This time instead of missing Troy, it'd be Ben.

The Steelers select...whatever quarterback is left. It would be very nice to know if Milledgeville GA is going to charge him before the draft.

So far the overwhelming favorite is Rolando McClain. Inspite of the Crohn's disease, Ro-McC would be a fantastic pick for the Steelers @ pick 18. Personally I don't support trading up to acquire him at this point, because if he should get past Denver @11 it seems reasonable to think he would make it to #18. McClain is a super star prospect as a 3-4 ILB, but with the depth at the linebacker position in this years draft I don't think it is worth spending a top 20 pick to put him in a 4-3. The Chiefs can never be underestimated to do something stupid at linebacker, and may spend their #5 on him, or trade back and try to get him in the early teens if they suspect Denver has concerns about the Crohn's + high altitude...I'm no doctor, but I heard he got winded quickly during his pro day. That is something that obviously the Broncos would consider before they select him @11.

If McClain should be gone, then Earl Thomas is an intriguing defensive prospect. My only beef with ET is that Longhorn players are notorious under achievers, or in Limas Sweed's case don't achieve 2 shits and a bag of sand once they leave Austin. Pittsburgh's Casey Hampton is about as solid a pro that can be found from that program for the last...well, since the last Earl from Texas. (Honorable mention Derrick Johnson) Excuse this, and excuse that for the players, but I see 3 guys who fail to reach their potential for every 1 that even comes close. Thomas, at least as far as the NFL is concerned, is moving on to greener pastures ASAP. I certainly respect his humble demeanor, and paired with Troy P, could prevent Ryan Clark from becoming James Farrior II over the next several seasons. Earl still seems like a roll of the dice though. Are Jamaal Charles and Brian Orakpo the new wave UT NFL guys, or were they just exceptions that shouldn't realistically be thought to be duplicated?

When I think of McClain, Kendrell Bell comes to mind. Fantastic ILB, but could be another China Doll who spends week after week in the Hot Tub collecting paychecks

McClain, or Joe Haden... Either position could use the youth. This is not taking into consideration that Terrance Cody could still be there at #18. We definitely need some youth on the D Line too.
Bruce Arians: Proudly carried the Honor of Short Bus All-Star 2007-2011. Good job, and glad you're gone Dumbfuck!!!!!

Dan Williams over Terence Cody any day.....we may be able to pick up Cody in round 2 which is still too high unless we need a team mascot with man boobs....Iupati and Thomas are the likely picks if available. A QB in round 2-4 would be a good move for depth regardless of the outcome of Big Ben's problems with little Ben.
