Colts loss a lesson?

Postby SteelThatDon'tRust » Fri Feb 12, 2010 10:26 am

The Colts passed 45 times and Manning only had one pick. I don't know if I'd call that choking. But did anyone notice Addai mostly shredding the Saints defense when the Colts actually let him run more than once in a row? Addai simply couldn't be stopped. Only one man could stop him and did: the Colts OC. Yet all we hear is that you have to pass to the skies in today's league. I'm not saying the Colts would have won had they used a more balanced attack, but I saw no proof whatsoever that the Saints were going to be able to put the brakes on Addai. What I did see was the Colts ABANDONING THE RUN when it was going really well. Manning didn't need to do it all by himself. Addai was more than happy to help, and even worse, clearly able: 13 carries for 77 yards. 13. And that would be 6, count 'em, 6 yards per carry. Familiar story? Discuss.
You asked with your eyes Trent, you asked with your eyes.

I agree. I thought Addai was going to be the MVP until the Colts abandoned the run. Addai IMHO deserved MVP for SB42.

i also noticed this and was wondering why the colts went away from the run

if they would have ran say 30 times instead of 19 i think that the saints D would have been far more sceptically to the pass and wouldnt have been able to stop them

it was kinda like Bruce was running the O and well the results proved it

When we play NO next year this is definatley something to look towards. Colts run a Spread O. They were starting out running in a ace set. But if we can spread out the saints to set up draws and SG runs then we can do what the colts attempted. But it is arians. Shit i could call better plays than Nazi Sympathizer

I learned that Dwight Freeney is one of maybe a handful of players who significantly impact every play he is on the field. :supimpin:

I learned that Freeney fakes injuries before the games.

I had deja vu of Paul Pierce getting hauled out in a wheelchair then draining like 5 3's.

Yessssiiirrreee, it will be ARIANS,... The guy whose head is so far up his own backside, he can see out his earholes and has shit for brains.

Do any of you really think Arians will apply any lessons from the SB and how Addai was unstoppable? Do you REALLY believe Bruce will even give this a thought?

Count me as one who thought it odd that was Addai not getting the ball to keep Drew "The Needle Threader" Brees off the field. I told my wife that Arians must be in the booth because the Colts stopped what they had working because it was working. Only BA would do that. I was amazed that Tom Moore got pass happy when they had the lead. No way do you give Brees the ball. I think Colts thought they would hang 45 on them and pull the starters at half-time! Loved it that they lost. How's that Jets game strategy workin' for ya now, boys?
