"only" 13 points?
Some respondents here are saying the Steelers D "only" gave up 13 points, not too bad.
Problem with that is, they gave up 160 yards rushing to the two Brownie running backs, averaging over 5 yards a carry. The fact that the browns "only" scored 13 points just points to their ineptitude, most teams would have scored 30+ the way our D was playing last night.
We have the player talent. Clearly they are not being coached well. After the 2nd loss to the Bungles, they just fell apart. They didn't believe in themselves anymore. These guys are pros, they can watch film and and wonder openly why our pass coverage can't make adjustments in the 4Q, why we can't run a draw or a screen to save ourselves from jailhouse blitzes, why Ben doesn't get admonished for not throwing it away at least some of the time instead of taking a sack. Non-starters are doubtless wondering why they should kill themselves on special teams when it won't buy them any playing tiime against loafing starters.
Tomlin, you got 3 games to get the non-starters some playing time and see who's a keeper for next year. Let Dixon play at least half of each game, show that he's capable, and trade him for a high draft pick. Give an assistant play-calling capabilities. Tell Ben next sack "on him" and Dixon's back in, so he can learn how. Tell Dick to get ready for his retirement party, Arians to move on, Kenny Anderson too bad, I need somebody who can stand up to my $100M QB and turn him into the superstar he should be.
